Page Two. JANESVILLEE (WIS.) DAILY GAZETTE Monday, June, 9, 1947- Thomas Kachels, Whitewater, Feted on Golden Wedding Whitewater Mr. and Thomas A. Kachel held open house Sunday afternoon at. their home, 1105 Main street, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary.

Besides the many local friends and relatives who called to congratulate them, the following came from out of town: Dr. John Hogan, son William and daughter Mary, Mr. and Mrs: Will Hogan, Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Draeger and Keith, Janesville; Mrs.

D. H. Dunn, Milwaukee; Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Lyness, Stevens Point; Mr.

and Mrs. Leslie Kachel, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kachel and daughter, Mary Lou, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs.

Sidney Kachel and Pat and Tommy, Lake Geneva, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ca '-son, and the former home from Harvard university. The refreshment table was centered with a large bowl of yellow roses and flowers in baskets and vases and flowering plants, gifts of the guests or friends unable to be present, filled every available space. Telegrams and special delivery letters were also received from absent friends and relatives.

Assisting in receiving were the members of the family, the Leslie, Donald and Sidney Kachels, Mrs. D. H. Dunn and Miss Anna Dunn. Mrs.

Dunn and Mary Lou Kachel poured at the refreshment table. Among the bouquets received was from WCLO, Janesville Gazette station, with a note from "Aunt Em." Watrous-DeYoung Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Paul Watrous ar- ttved here Friday after a week's wedding trip in northern Wisconsin and are now at home in their Parkway apartment at the city park. Miss Ethel De Young, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Jacob De Young, Horicon, at teacher in the fourth grade of the city school last year, became the bride of Paul Watrous, son of Mrs. Agnes Watrous, of this city, May in the Evangelical church at Horicon. The Rev. Arthur J.

Willett, Randolph, read the -3- o'clock ceremony before an altar decorated with lilacs and tulips. The bride wore a white suit with white accessories. Her corsage was -of gardenias and pink rosebuds. Attending her as matron of honor -was her sister, Mrs. Catherine "Broombaugh, Milwaukee, clad in "an aqua suit with a pink hat corsage of pink and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Ray "Kelm, Whitewater, and ushering -were the brother-in-law of the bride, Edward Broombaugh, Mil- and her aunt, Miss Clara Mrs. Willett, wife of the clergy- 'inan, sang Grieg's "Ich Liebe Dich" "and "The Lord's Prayer." A reception was held in the 'Church parlors for about 80 guests, 'after which the young couple left for the north. Mrs. Watrous was graduated from the Oshkosth State Teachers college, where she was affiliated with the Kappa Gamma sorority. Her husband graduated from the city high school here and was in service for three years in the air corps, 18 months overseas in the Southwest Pacific.

He is now assistant superintendent in the foundry division of the Whitewater Co. Whitewater Briefs The Garden club will meet at 1:30 p. m. P. Simons has sold his meat market to Phil Salamone of Rockford, who will take possession July 1. Mr. Simons has been in the meat business in Delavan for about 40 years. He is a native of Sharon, but came to Delavan when 20, worked as a delivery boy for H.

W. Utley and later was employed in the Andrew Quinn market and then went into business with John Quinn. After spending eight years in Iowa, Mr. Simons returned to Delavan and worked in the Bert Hollister market. In 1910 he went into business for himself and has been in his present location since 1916.

Gould and Sandra are in Harvard, 111. Mrs. W. S. Peavey is staying with Miss Edith Kohlsaat for the present.

Mrs. M. Rogers and daughter and sons are living in the Peavey home in Buena Vista club. Mrs. Rogers purchased the house recently.
