Guitarist Paul Weeden will perform there July 27 and 28. Cincinnati jazz Guitarist Cal Collins and the Billy McGary Quartet, featuring trumpeter Tim Hagens, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. July 25 in Cincinnati's Fountain Square as a prelude to the Kool Jan Festival July 27 and 28. The Fountain Square concert is free and tickets for both evenings of the festival are still available in Indianapolis from all Ticketmaster outlets. The Kool Jazz Festival will be held in Riverfront Stadium.

The July 27 concert will feature the Deele. Midnight Star. Cameo, Ash-ford and Simpson, and Kool and the Gang. Performers for the July 28 show will include New Edition, Bobby Womack, Maze with Frank Beverly, Patti Labelle and Luther Van-dross. Festival officials are expected the festival's 23 year attendance record to be broken but say there are still tickets available.

Vaudeville Chicago, a vaudeville-type musical by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, will be produced for the first time in Indiana by Theater in the Woods on Aug. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 in the Jewish Community Center, 6701 Hoover Road.

The cast will be headlined by Kelly Baker, Mamie Lemons, Alan Anderson, Susie Kellum, George Kruggel, Bill Sutton and Jim Ed- wards. Performances will be at 8 p.m., and tickets are $5. Richard "Andy" Anderson, 58, a lifelong Indianapolis resident and retired Indianapolis Police Department sergeant, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home. to 9 p.m. today. He died Monday in Methodist Hospital. Mr. Anderson was with the IPD 25 years, retiring as a sergeant in 1975.

He later worked as a bailiff in Marion County Muncipal Courts four years, retiring in 1979. He earned numerous citations for police work, including one from the FBI for helping apprehend a suspect on its 10 Most Wanted List He received the American Red Cross award and an award from the American Legion for "recognition of extraordinary heroism" in 1960. A 1950 graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science and a World War II Marine veteran, he was a member of Evergreen Masonic Lodge. Scottish Rite. Fraternal Order of Police, Disabled American Veterans, Retired Police Officers Association and Wesley United Methodist Church.

Born in Pittsburgh, he lived here most of his life. An Army veteran of World War II, he had been a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines and was a security guard for Schlangen Guard Service Inc. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Indianapolis Baptist Temple. Stirling-Gerber Funeral Home, Prospect Chapel, is handling the arrangements.

Elsie Townsend Canary, 81, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Tuesday in her home. She was a member of Union Christian Church, a member and past president of Union Community Home Economics Club and a charter member and past president of Johnson County Hospital Guild. She had received the Franklin Kiwanis Award for Rural Life. She was active in the Johnson County Farm Bureau and was a recipient of the group's award, Farm Wife of the Year. He died Monday in St. Francis Hospital Center. A resident of Indianapolis 55 years, he was a native of Morgan-town, Ky. He was a member and assistant pastor at Christian Hope Baptist Church. He was a warehouse inspector for Standard Groceries 17 years, retiring in 1968.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel L. Cannon; three sons, Eugene Don Richard M. Cannon; three daughters, Nancy C. Hurt, Glenda Cherry Cannon. Debbie R.

Cook Greenfield, Ind. Debbie R. Trees Cook, 80, Greenfield, died Tuesday in Hancock Memorial Hospital. The widow of Claude Cook, she was a lifelong Hancock County resident. She was a member of the Charlottesville United Methodist Church and Jackson Township Home Economics Club.

a former president of the Indiana High School Athletics Association Council, died Tuesday in Rush Memorial Hospital in Rush-ville. Born in Lapel, he lived in Milroy since 1932. He was graduated from Butler University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. For 28 years he was coach and a social studies teacher at Milroy High School and superintendant of Decatur County schools 16 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Butler died Monday in his home here. A MUSICIAN, he had played with several big-name bands, including the Glenn Miller Band. A native of Ponca. he had lived in Culver since 1933.

He had a bachelor of music degree from the University of Nebraska, a degree in business administration from the University of Washington and a bachelor Of law degree from Indiana University. He composed the score and lyrics for the Delta Upsilon fraternity song: She Is My Wonderful U. Girl. HE WAS A member of that fraternity and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church here, the American, Indiana and Marshall County bar associations, the American Judicature Society, the Indiana Society of Chicago, and alumni associations of Nebraska, Washington and Indiana universities. Survivors include his wife, Frances E.
