HIE JAXESVILLE DAILY GAZETTE Thursday, May 1, 194 Scouting Program Displays to Be Shown at Fort Park Fort local Scouting program will go on display this week-end at Jones park, when Troop 30 will hold a three-day camporee. Forrest Schoeller, troop leader, has planned a complete program of scouting with the feature item, "The Council Fire to be held at 7:30 p. m. Saturday.

Schoel- has invited parents and friends ctscouting to visit the Camporee. Cub Pack 31 will make a house- to-house fat drive Saturday with thie revenue to be used for the purchase of handicraft and other equipment items needed by the pa.ck. Special Church Meet A special meeting of all church members and contributing members of the Congregational church is Scheduled for Tuesday evening. The meeting will be preceded by a 630 potluck supper with each iriember asked to bring a dish to and sandwiches. The Lend-A- Huid society will be' in charge of the supper.

The purpose of the meeting will be to hear the reports Of'the building committee and to consider the recommendations of the board of trustees. Following the supper there will be community singing and reports on the progress of the construction of the Parish hall, followed by a talk by the Rev. Charles M. Brown on "Our New Church Probation Officer Speaks G. Wendt, Lake Mills, probation officer of Jefferson county, was the speaker at the meeting ol the Oakland Ladies' society held in the home of Mrs.

Charles Fleming, Jefferson, Wednesday. There was a large attendance of members and guests and during the business meeting 510 was voted for the cancer control fund. Mrs. Reuben Robbins, president, named Mmes. Erwin Pantel, Charles Fleming and Charles Ward on the nominating committee, to report on the slate of officers at the May meeting.

A 1 o'clock luncheon was served by Mrs. Fleming assisted by' Mmes. Chester Ouweneel, Charles Stevens and Spencer Ward. Fort Atkinson Briefs Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Luedtke and daughter, Judith Ann, are leaving Monday for Santa Anna, where they will make an extended visit with Mrs. Luedtke's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Earnheart and family. Charles Goodrich returned to Chicago Wednesday after spending several days with his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. C. E. Goodrich, route 1. Mr.

and Mrs. Norbert Rueth attended the wedding of Miss Betty Wilcox and Zeno Weisensel Thursday morning in the Sacred Heart church in Sun Prairie. Miss Wilcox is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcox, former residents of Fort Atkinson.

Mrs. Frank Whitney went to Jefferson Thursday where she will stay in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Schenk, until Friday while Mrs. Schenk is visiting Milwaukee. Mrs.

George Qulgley entertained the three table bunco club Tuesday evening with Miss Malinda Betchler. Mmes. Quigley, Otto Graf and Edith Middlestadt winning honors. Mrs. Mary Hardin returned to her home at 300 N.

High street Tuesday after spending the winter at the home of her Harry Hardin, in Morristowri, Tenn. Her son accompanied her home and will return to Morristown Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ward and Mrs.

Charles Ward went to Beloit Wednesday night where they attended a pink and blue shower at the Leo Hahn home in honor of their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert Hahn. Richard Beischel, Fort Atkinson, is one of 22 students at Ripon college, who were recently initiated into Lambda Delta Alpha fraternity at the college. High School Girls in Clever Style Show at Jefferson freshman home economics classes climaxed their unit on sewing by presenting a style shown at the elementary scliool Friday. Mrs.

Van Cleaf, tWelr advisor, and Ramona Derr arid Doris Messerschmidt were instrumental in planning the program. The style show was divided into three sections. The first was "Sports On Parade." Jo Kennedy, Lois Rindfleisch, Carolyn Armstrong, Ethel Britzman, Doris Zimmerman, Grace Tessman, Joan Walthers and Mavis Hoffman made sport outfits. The second part was "School Time." The scene took place in Nan Schroedl's home. Nan was ill and unable to go to classes.

Her friends came over to see her. Nan wore a blue brunch coat trimmed with white rickrack. Her friends included Betty Staude, Phyllis Dobratz, Isola Haag, Delores Boos, Marilyn Lubahn, Carol Cole, June Burkert, Marilyn Jung, Edith Smillie and Katheryn' Schopen. The concluding scene was "Party Time." Pretty frocks were made by Beverly Jacobs, Margaret Koeppel, Carol Perry, Margaret Liebe, Delores Pohlman, Shirley Herreid and Ruth Linder. Student Council Hosts Jefferson high school was host to the Tri-City student council meeting Wednesday.

The council of students from Beav- erJDam, Watertown and Jefferson with Mary Buske, Carole Smith, Jerry Stueber and Charles Serns active for the local school. The program consisted of registration, business meeting, address by Mr. Goldgrtiber, assistant principal of Wisconsing high school, followed by a discussion. From 11:30 until 1, the time was given over to lunch and dancing in the gymnasium. In the afternoon, the visitors made a tour of.

classes which was followed by speeches and adjournment Truck Rams Two Cars A Home Lumber Co. truck driven Tjy Phillip Massier, going north on Center street at 1:45 p. m. Sunday, first, hit a parked car owned by Otto Brandt, Fort Atkinson and then drove head on into the parked car owned by Arlin Nolte, who lives at Lenoard Vogel home. Considerable damage was done to the Nolte car on which Mr.

Nolte was working. Had he not jumped aside, a serious accident might have resulted. I Pageant Well Attended The pageant on the romance in the life of a priest titled "Sacred Romance," and written by Sister Mary John, a member of the Cardinal Stritch college faculty, was well received by Jefferson and the surrounding territoiy in two presentations Sunday and Monday evening in the high school auditorium. Approximately 175 boys and girls participated in the pageant in which all played their respective parts like veteran actors under the able direction of Sister Mary Lawrence, teacher of the seventh and eighth grades of St John's Catholic school. Episcopal Parish Meeting Following a 6 o'clock potluck well attended Tuesday evening in the basement of St- Mary's Episcopal church, the Rev. A. Card opened parish meeting with prayers. Reports were given by Gordon Woester, treasurer of the churoh; Harold Puerner, warden; Mrs.

Herbert Natter, secretary and treasurer of the guild; Mrs. Erwin Hauser, president of the guild; and Father Card on affairs of the church. Motion was made for repairs to be made on the church. A social time followed meeting. Plan Flower Show The Jefferson Garden club will meet Monday at the Gilbert Schlagenhauf home with Mmes, Schlagenhauf, Mary Bienfang and Aaron Keuler, hostesses.

The highlight of the program will be the Keulers telling about their recent trip to California. Plans will be made for the local flower show and a discussion of the state flower show will be held. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wart spent Sunday at Wauconda, 111., where they visited his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Douglas Wart. Mrs. Arthur Hammes spent Wednesday and Thursday in Madison, where she attended the University of Wisconsin concert in which her daughter, Lois, appeared as a member of the chorus. Miss Katherine Connelly, Fond du Lac, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. M. J. Connelly. Mr.

Mrs. Joseph Kexel and daughter, motored to Milwaukee Monday where Mrs. Kexel and baby are spending the week with her mother, Mrs. Sabina Johansen. Mr.

and Mrs. J. H. Mahoney, Milwaukee, have moved to their new home, 1019 Center street, recently purchased from the late Mrs. Anna Rueth estate.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Krusing are moving into the home recently by the William Markgraffs on the corner of street and irst avenue. Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Kobs, Washington, are spending several weeks visiting relatives and Mends. Mrs. John Held is spending this week at Madison where she is undergoing medical treatment at Wisconsin General hospital. Messrs, and Mmes. B.

and son, Michael, spent last Saturday in Chicago, where, they attended the wedding of their niece and cousin, Miss Kemmeter, lo John Strung. Palmyra Students Visit Waukesha Giese accompanied by the senior class of the Palmyra high school visited the Industrial school at Waukesha Tuesday and the Waukesha Motor Works. The group made the trip the school bus, driven by Carl Schaefer. Restaurant Opens The Wayne restaurant and the flat over the restaurant are now occupied by Mr. and Mrs.

Hoyle, their son-in-law and daughter and grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Moore and Perry. They moved in Monday. Dr.

and Mrs. Kenneth Bill have moved into the residence just vacated by the.Hogel family. The restaurant building received a new coat of white paint Monday. Attend Pritchett Rites All members of the band of Ihe Palmyra high school attended funeral Monday of Lester Pritchett, Whitewater. Palmyra Briefs Emil Baumgartner has sold his residence property to Mrs, Mary Nicosen.

Mr. Baumgartner will make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Russell Sheets, and family. Mrs. John Lindholm Jr.

and daughters, Nancy, Patsy and Susan, Chicago, are spending this week, which is their spring vacation, in Jie home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer kelson. They arrived Monday to assist Carol Nelson in celebrating ler birthday. Mr.

and Mrs. G. B. Ballinger, all of Chicago, were recent weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs.

His fraternity is the Delta Sigma Delta. While in service he held the rank of captain. Kathleen graduated from Lake Mills high school in 1939. She attended a business school in Milwaukee. Her sorority is the Beta Sigma Phi.

The wedding is planned for June 12 at St. Rose of Lima church, Milwaukee. Kripschack-Manske Mr and Mrs. Martin Kripschack announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Alice Mildred to Earl C. Manske, son of Mr.
