Dailey, who recently resigned as US ambassador to Ireland, could not be reached for comment who denies taking a major political role in the 1980 Reagan campaign, was provided details of President Carter's final, election ve television appeal three days in advance.

Meese's campaign files show. Paul Louis Douglas Impeached attorney general work involving real estate developments. He allegedly abetted or assisted in insider borrowing at Commonwealth. He allegedly did "substantially nothing" to prosecute or investigate Clinton.

Tenn. (UPI) Lawyer Mary Evans, who fell in love with her killer-client and helped him escape from prison, will enter a mental hospital for a "prolonged" stay if a judge accepts a plea bargain. Miss Evans, 27. pleaded guilty March 3 to aiding the escape of convict Tim Kirk, 37. in a deal with prosecutors that calls for three years of probation.

Miss Evans psychiatrists are to testify at Tuesday's sentencing hearing. Criminal Court Judge James Scott has reserved judgment on whether to accept the plea bargain until he hears the testimony. The judge could send Miss Evans to prison for up to five years. Miss Evans arranged to have Kirk taken from his cell to a psychologist's office March 31. and once there brandished a pistol and went on the run with the man, who killed another inmate.

one house Nebraska Legislature voted 27 19 March 14 to impeach Douglas for conduct relating to the investigation Of the insolvent Commonwealth Sav ings Co. of Lincoln, and for his personal business dealings with Commonwealth and former Commonwealth officer Marvin Copple. whose family owned the company. That vote on the sixount articles of impeachment automatically removed him from office with pay pending the outcome of his trial. His deputy.

"I think the impeachment is un-t justified," said Douglas, 57. who was first elected to the office in 1974 and was reelected in 1978 and 1982. Douglas acknowledged some of the tions were unusual, but argued that I they weren't improper. The trial "will follow the normal courtroom procedures of a criminal case, said Krivosha. Conviction re quires affirmative votes from at least five of the seven judges. of Omaha, has questioned the withdrawal of the three judges, saying it appears that the state constitution may require a tnal before the full court. FRANK CAMPAGNA, a 21 year-old county paramedic, was charged Saturday with smuggling two handguns a pistol and a pistol into the jail in a blood pressure kit He was charged with armed robbery, aiding an escape and carrying contraband into a penal institution. Irv Miller, supervisor of felony review for the state attorney's said police believe Campagna was paid $75 to smuggle the guns into the jail.
