daughter of the lata aamuel ooiuieu, can; tuoi uy- tor in Wyoming valley, and niece of the late Civil War general, Paul A. Oliver, who lived at Laurel Run, died on Saturday at Chestnut Hill! Miss Bonnell had many friends in Wyoming Valley, having spent many summers at her summer cottage at Laurel Run, near the home of General Oliver. She and her brother, the late Bonnell, were the heirs of Gen. Oliver, who owned a large tract of land extending from Laurel Run Borough to Kresge's on the Pittston Boulevard. Miss Bonnell and her late brother, were donors of the land on which the Oliver School on the East End Boulevard in Bear Creek Township is located, Gen.

Oliver during the Civil War was on the staff of Gen. George G. Meade at Gettysburg; Gen. Burnstde in the Tennessee campaign, and Gen. U.

S. Grant in the Wilderness Campaign. He was one of the two Northern generals designated to receive the side arms of the Confederate officers at the surrender at Appomatox. Gen. Oliver lived at Laurel Run, where he founded the powder mills.

Subsequently Olivers Mills was named after him. Surviving Miss Bonnell are two nephews, Samuel Bonnell; Bay Head, N. and Lincoln Bonnell, New York City. Funeral will be held from her home, 249 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth, N. Tuesday at 2:30.

He -served in the Navy four years as a pharmacist's mate, having been stationed at Panama Canal Zone. After his discharge, he attended Kingston High School where he received his diploma. Gamellia Lamp Remains of Sgt. Chester S. Urban nephew of Mrs. Marcella Miskiel, 13 Pulaski Street, Kingston, will arrive Wednesday night at 6:30 on DL Railroad, Kingston, and be escorted by American Legion Post 395 of Kingston to the home. Sgt.

Urban was born in Kingston June 30, 1920, and attended St. Hedwig's Parochial School. He was a member of St. Hedwig's Church before enlisting in the Army February 7. 1942.

He received his basic training at uamp we. and later trained at Camp Edwards, Mass. He was attached to the Medical Corps, serving in Australia and New Guinea for three years. Death occurred from Dneumnnia at embarkation at Finthhaven, New Guinea, January 25, 1945. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs.

Anthony Gosciewskl, the former Natalie Urban, of Kingston, and three brothers, Stanley, Newark; Edward, Sugar Anthony, at home. Funeral, will be held Saturday at 9 from the home of his aunt, with requiem mass at 9:30 at St. Hedwig's Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Dallas. American Legion Post 395 will accord military rites at the funeral.

OBITtfARY MARTIN L. HAUGHNET Martin Haughney, 68, father of Hugh Haughney, 33 East Walnut Street, Plymouth, died Wednesday in a veterans' hospital at Los Angeles. Deceased whs a resident of Plymouth for many years and moved to the Coast 25 years ago. A veteran of World War 1, he was gassed while serving with the Third Division. He held sev eral citations for meritorious serv ice rendered.

He was also a vet eran of the Spanish-American War. A son, of White House, N. also survives. Funeral was held Saturday in West Los Angeles. MRS.

ELIZABETH JONES Mrs. Elizabeth (Maina) Jones, 94, died suddenly yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas, 69 Essex Lane. Deceased was1 born in Wales and came to Wilkes-Barre 65 years ago. She also is survived by two sons, Robert, Wilkes-Barre; Evan, Ashley; 16 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren, She was the oldest member of Bethel Baptist Church.
