A Lovelier You By Mary Sue Miller WAY WITH FRAGRANCE If you are casting about for a finishing touch to a COStume, try fragrance. A scent, knowingly chosen and used, increases the impact of both your appearance and individuality.

Just think of a rose without scent, and you immediately grasp the idea. NOW THAT point is established, let's investigate the effective ways of choosing and using fragrance: 1. Select only those scents that complement your personality type--young or mature, insouciant or sophisticated. When undecided, make a "patch" test by placing a droplet on the inside of your wrist, letting it dry and then sniffing. It's a case where your nose knows.

2. Aim for a wardrobe of fragrances--perfume, cologne, purse flacons and skin sachet. That way, you get more service from fragrance than from a set of interchangeable separates. 3. Before applying a scent, consider its suitability to your costume and the occasion.

Those sultry essences are best reserved for evening hours and attire. 4. For effective application, touch perfume or skin sachet to the pulse spots; spray cologne into the air and walk through the mist. Use neither too little nor too much. But for the sake of loveliness, do USE fragrance.
