In addition to supervising student teachers, she also served as a demonstration teacher at Penn State for ive summer terms. Deceased received her BS and MA degrees at Columbia University. She was a member of Pi Lambda Theta Fraternity and American-Association of University Women. She was also a member of Maple Grove Methodist Church. se.

While attending Columbia University, she went and visited nearly all the European, countries. On July 19 she left on a visit to the West Coast where she was taken ill shortly after arriving in Washington. Remains will be shipped to Wilkes-Barre, arriving here Tuesday afternoon or evening. He was born in Lynn. and came to Wilkes-Barre when a young man. In his younger days he -was well known as a sprinter ana 100c racer, or some years he operated a hotel on South Main Street and was active in the af fairs of the Democratic Party. He was nominated as Democratic City Commissioner in 1920 ana later was chief deputy in the sheriff's office under Sheriff jeorge buss. He served for a while as jury commissioner.

During prohibition he was employed as enforcement officer for S. Government and later was employed by Pennsylvania Employments service, tie reurea eignt years ago. His wife, the former' Hattie Waters, died on March 11. 1939. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, among whom is Miss Ella Gallagher of Lynn, Mass.
