Mrs. Ellen R. Keefer Succumbs at Sunbury Mrs. Ellen Regina Keefer, mother of Paul F. Keefer, head of the Industrial Arts Department of Kingston High School, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday morning in the kitchen of her home along Tulpehocken Koaa, near Sunbury.

She had suffcred from heart trouble the past two years. Mrs. Keefer, 73, was the widow of George F. Keefer, former Sun-burv city engineer. She was born i August 17, 1875, in Upper Augusta Townsnip.

She was active in the First Evangelical and Reformed Church and was a member of the Women's Guild and the Jennie Faries Bible Class of the church. She was also a member and former warder of Eastern Star and a member and former treasurer of the WCTU. Her husband, who died in 1941.

Anna Haggerty, wife of Martin Haggerty, teacher in Plains Township schools, died yesterday morning at 6:15 in General Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 21." The body was removed to the funeral home, 44 Hudson Road. Plains, from where the funeral will be held Saturday at 9.

Death Takes Father Of Ashley Burgess Walter Whiteman. father of Bur gess Delia Gray of Ashley, passed away at 12:30 yesterday morning at his home, 267 Walnut Street, Luzerne, following an illness.

Mr. Whiteman, a native of Lithuania, came to America 50 years ago and settled in Luzerne, residing there since. A former employe of the Woodward Colliery, Glen Alden Coal Company, he was a member ol St. Ann's Church. He is survived by his wife and 13 children: First Sgt.

Ann's Church at 9:30. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Lehman. MRS. ELIZABETH RAKOS Mrs. Elizabeth Rakos, of 17 Bublo Street, West Wyoming, passed away at 8:20 yesterday morning in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 24.

A resident of West Wyoming for the past 35 years, Mrs. Rakos attended Mother of Sorrows Chapel. WILLI A Mil ARKLNS William Harklns, 53, former resident of South Wilkes-Barre, died yesterday morning at 11 at Homeopathic Hospital, Rittersville, Lehigh County, where he had been employed as a male nurse for the past 20 years. His parents, both deceased, were members of St Aloysius' Church. He is survived by a sister, Mary, also of Rittersville. The body will be brought to the funeral home at 24 Maffett Street, Plains, from where the funeral will probably be held Saturday morning, with a requiem mass in St. Aloysius' Church.

He was 31 and resided at 171 Nicholson Street, Wilkes-Barre Township.

Mr. Benedettl was born in Italy and was brought to this country by his parents at the. age of 2. He had resided in Wilkes-Barre Town ship most of his life, with the ex ception of a short time spent in Parsons, and was a member of Holy Rosary Slovak Church, Ash ley. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Paciotti of Parsons; two sons, William, 11, and Alfred, his mother, Mrs.

Olympla Benedetti Vllani, Wilkes-Barre Township; a brother, Caeser, California, and his maternal grandmother in Italy. The funeral will take place from the home on Saturday morning at 9, with a requiem mass at 9:30 in Holy Rosary Church. Friends may call tonight and Friday. MAGDALENA KOLENDOWICZ Mrs. Magdalena Kolendowlcz passed away yesterday morning at 8:35 at the home of her daughter, Mrs.

Walter Choronzy, 27 Rice Avenue, Edwardsville, following an illness. Mrs. Kolendowlcz, a native of Poland, had lived in Prlngle for 40 years before taking up residence with her daughter several months ago. She was a member of St. Hedwig's Church, Kingston.

Her husband, Anthony, died in July, 1948. She is survived by the following children: Paul, New York City; William, Camden, N. Felix, Edwardsville; Stanley and Anthony, both of Pringle; Mrs. Stanley Na-ruslewicz and Mrs. Choronzy, Edwardsville; Mrs.

John Kutz, New York City, and Mrs. Clem Ziko, Bridgeport, also 21 grandchildren. JOHN HENRY SCHI GARDT John Henry Schugardt, 71, of 92 South Woodward Court, Hazleton, died Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 at his home following a heart attack. Mr. Schugardt was born in Germany, a son of the late Henry and Christine Fredenberg Schugardt, and spent most of his life in Hazleton.

A retired pump watchman, he was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, East End Fire Company and Camp 91, POS of all of Hazleton. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Probert Schugardt, and one sister, Mrs. Andrew Helwig, Hazleton. Frank Jennings Dies As Result of Fall Injuries suffered Sunday night when he fell down stairs resulted in the death yesterday morning at 7 of Frank Jennings, about 80, which occurred at the home of his niece, Mrs.

Joseph Loftus, 442 South Main Street, Sebastopol, with whom he resided. Mr. Jennings was a brother of the late "Hughey" Jennings, former manager of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. Born in Browntown section of Pittston Township, he spent most of his lire in Moosic. or many years he was a clerk in the old John O'D.

Mangan store in -Pittston. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and a charter member of Pittston Council 372, Knights of Columbus. His wife, the former Margaret M. Mc-Guiness, died five years ago.

Surviving besides Mrs. Loftus are two other nieces, Misses Grace and Agnes McGuiness. The funeral will be held from the funeral home, 802 Susquehanna Avenue, West Pittston, Saturday at 9:45, with a requiem mass In St. John's Church at 10:15. Interment will be in the parish cem etery.
