(UPI) An impostor who posed as a heart specialist was indicted on 17 felony counts yesterday but authorities said they would not seek murder complaints against him in the deaths of four patients he treated. The Orange County grand jury indicted Robert Erwin Brown, 33, years old, on 17 felony counts of practicing medicine without a license during the five weeks he posed as a heart specialist at the Fullerton Internal Medicine Clinic. Of the 103 persons he treated, four died. However, Deputy District Attorney James Enright said he would not seek murder charges against the bespectacled Birmingham (Ala.) native because authorities would have to prove malice and intent to kill or harm the patients on Brown's part.
