JORDAN HELPING WITH FINES Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan has offered to pay 83,500 in fines levied against four of his teammates for participating In a brawl with the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons' Rick Mahorn was suspended for one game and fined 85,000 by the NBA for knocking Jordan down and triggering the brawl during Saturday's 1 15-99 Bulls victory. "It's my way of showing my gratitude for them really stepping up for something I believed in," Jordan said. "It wasn't a fair foul. They agreed with me and expressed their actions against what was done." During the game at Chicago.

Mahorn grabbed Jordan around the neck and tossed him to the floor during the third quarter, causing both benches to empty and prompting a fight between Mahorn and Chicago's Charles Oakley. Oakley, Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen and Granville Waiters, all fined for their participation in the fight, said they would accept Jordan's offer. Bulls Coach Doug Collins, also fined, said he would decline the monetary assistance. HORSE RACING TURFWAY ENTRIES Today First Pest 1 am. (EST) First race 4,100.
