AUGUST 10, 1976 THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR PAGE 27 OBITUARIES Bruce H. McIntosh, Fraternity National Secretary, Dies At 81 Bruce H. McIntosh, 81, Carmel, former national secretary of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, died yesterday in St. Vincent Hospital. Born at Greencastle, he was a graduate of DePauw University and a charter member of the DePauw chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha.

He became national secretary for Lambda Chi in 1920, a position he held until 1942. He established the first general offices of the fraternity at Kingston, which later was moved to Wilkes Barre, and then to Indianapolis. He was president of the Secretaries' Association of the National Intrafraternity Conference. Mr. McIntosh served as secretary of the Lake Forest (Ill.) Country Fair and worked for the City News Bureau of Chicago during summers while an undergraduate at DePauw.

He worked for the J. Roland Kay Company, an international advertising company, at Chicago, and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. MR. MCINTOSH served two terms as chairman of the board of Woodruff Place, and was a member of the board of directors of the Ashland (later First Federal) Savings and Loan Association 40 years. He worked as a safety inspector for Richard F.

Fields Richard F. Fields, 74, North California Street, died yesterday at home. He was born at Platte City, and lived here 50 years. Mr. Fields, a World War I Army veteran, worked for Indianapolis Sanitation Department 35 years, retiring in 1967.

He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Stuart Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cecile Fields.

Mrs. Thelma Roseboom Services for Mrs. Thelma Faye Roseboom, 66, Holly Hills, formerly of Indianapolis, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. She died Sunday at home.

Mrs. Roseboom was born in Boone County and was a member of Fairfax Christian Church. She was the widow of John C. Roseboom. Survivors include her son, John E.

Roseboom, and her mother, Mrs. Florence Eaton, both of Holly Lester G. Goldman Services for Lester George Goldman, 74, 627 North Pennsylvania Street, ment 2, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Jordan Funeral Home, with burial at Mitchell. He died Sunday at home.

Born at English, Mr. Goldman had lived here most of his life. A World War II Army veteran, he was a retired hotel bellman. Survivors include his sister, Miss Mary R. Goldman of Indianapolis.

Jack A. Carter Services for Jack A. Carter, 40, Indianapolis, a factory worker, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Coldren Funeral Home at Findlay, Ohio, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery there. A native of Fostoria, Ohio, Mr.

Carter died Saturday in West 10th Street Veterans Administration Hospital. Detroit Diesel Allison Division, General Motors Corporation during World War II and served as safety director at L.S. Ayres Co. A specialist in hybridizing day lilies, he was president of the Indiana Day Lily Society. He established two scholarships for undergraduate members of the DePauw Lambda Chi chapter.

He served in the Army Signal Corps in World War I. SURVIVORS INCLUDE his widow, Mrs. Ethel Boyle McIntosh, and his son, George M. McIntosh of Lake Worth, Fla. The body has been donated to the Indiana University Medical Center, with memorial services to be conducted 1 later in the year at Greencastle.

Private funeral services will be held. Contributions can be made to the Bruce McIntosh Scholarship Fund of Xi Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha, in care of Charles S. Frick, 8741 Founders Road, Indianapolis. Mrs. James H.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her daughter, Mrs. Joyce M. Mitchell, and two sons, Stephen and Dennis Baker, all of Indianapolis; and her mother, Mrs. Nellie Westbrook of Greenfield, Mass. Services for Mrs.

Nelson (N. Jane) Baker, 53, 749 Worchester Avenue, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mrs. Nadine Derleth Services for Mrs. Nadine E.

Derleth, 77, Kissimmee, formerly of Indianapolis, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Flanner and Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary, Burial arrangements are incomplete. She died Sunday in Community Hospital. A native of Sparta, Derleth lived here most of her life. She was employed by William H.

Block Company as a cashier, retiring in 1962. She was the widow of Fred Derleth. Mrs. Crutchfield Services for Mrs. Garner (Mattie Bell) Crutchfield, 64, 7083 Rue de Nancy, will be held at 11 a.m.

Friday in Stuart Mortuary, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. She died Sunday at home. Mrs. Crutchfield was born at Owensboro, and had lived here 35 years. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lester L. Bickett Services for Mrs. Lester L. (Esther Evans) Bickett, 81, formerly of Indianapolis, will be held at 1 p.m.

Wednesday in Flanner and Buchanan Speedway Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. She died Sunday in Clinton County Hospital at Frankfort. A native of Linden, Mrs. Bickett lived here 50 years before moving to Frankfort. Her husband, the Rev.

Mr. Bickett, is former pastor of Clermont United Methodist Church. She was a member of Speedway United Methodist Church and was a past worthy matron and 50- year member of Linden Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her son, William W. Evans of Speedway.

Melvin F. Shepherd Services for Melvin F. Shepherd, 75, 6028 Evanston Avenue, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Flanner and Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary, with burial in Sutherland Park Cemetery. A 63-year Indianapolis resident, he died Sunday in Community Hospital.

Born at Greenville, he was a painter for 40 years, including 15 years for Circle City Decorating Company. He retired in 1971. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and the Painters' and Decorators' Union, Local 47. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Violet A.

Shepherd. and two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Shirley Deffendall of Indianapolis and Mrs. Charles (Rebecca Sue) Schmidt of Portland, Ore. Mrs.

Guy McCombs Services for Mrs. Guy J. (Naomi Esther) McCombs, 76, 1611 Finley Avenue, a lifelong Indianapolis resident, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Farley West Morris Street Chapel, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. She died Sunday while attending Christ Community Church.

She worked for the William H. Block Company 10 years, retiring in 1966, and was a member of Christ Community Church and the Order of Amaranth. Survivors include her husband, Guy J. McCombs, four sons, Carl Jack Harry L. and C.

Gene McCombs, all of Indianapolis, and four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Alice Marie) Daniels of Myrtle Point, and Mrs. Michael C. (Ruth Ann) Viles, Mrs. Paul (June) Richards and Mrs.

David E. (Anna) Border, all of Indianapolis. Earl B. Bunnell Services for Earl B. Bunnell, 72, 3202 West 29th Street, will be held at 10 a.m.

Goodrich Company, retiring in 1968. He was a member of Capitol City Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beatrice (Elsie) Bunnell; daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Lawyer of Indianapolis, and stepdaughter, Mrs.

Delores Burger, Weston, Mass. Mrs. Hallie Henry Services for Mrs. Hallie Henry, 72, 1165 North Pershing Avenue, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mount Vernon Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery.

She died Sunday in Wishard Memorial Hospital. A native of Virginia, Mrs. Henry had lived here 18 years. She was the widow of Ben Henry. Friends may call from 2 p.m.
