The loss of "superminister" Schiller, a proven vote-getter, was seen as a blow to Brandt's hopes for re-election this fall. Schiller resigned after a cabinet dispute over foreign monetary policies.

Brandt moved Georg Leber, postal and transport minister, into Schmidt's defense post, and named Housing Minister Lauritz Lauritzen to succeed Leber. Brandt's decision to name Schmidt to both posts was somewhat of a surprise be cause Interior Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher was known to have expressed interest in the post of finance minister. Craig did not disclose the strength of the commandoes, whom he described as men with military training," dur ing an interview with the Bri tish Press Association.

But he declared their units were spread across Northern Ire land and supplemented the 43,000 men reported to belong to another militant Protestant organization, the Ulster De fense Association, or UDA. BRITISH authorities do not doubt that commando squads have been recruited, and report increasing British army involvement in the UDA. One of the principal UDA commanders is known to be a former British paratrooper and security forces believe a number of other veterans of the elite regiment have joined Protestant ranks. (C-WEEDS), was one of several persons speak ing at C-WEEDS first meeting in the Metropolitan Center, 16th and Delaware streets. MRS. Financial difficulties, and medical and social disabilities are serious problems confronting the epileptic in his adjust ment to society, she added.

Mrs. Mary VanBuren, owner of the Swift Business College and one of the incorporators of C-WEEDS, stressed the importance of training the epileptic for long-range employment for better economic stability as opposed to several smaller jobs from which he is likely to be fired after a few months because of his handicap. MRS. VANBUREN has donated office furniture for the organization's quarters in Room 421 of the Ober Building, 38 North Pennsylvania Street. George Williams, an epileptic and another incorporator, said C-WEEDS will work with existing programs for epileptics, to achieve the best overall results.
