APP.COM ASBURY PARK PRESS 19A Wendt G. of Lavallette, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, during heart- related surgical complications. He was 85 years old. Wendt was born on Feb. 9, 1930 in Berlin, Germany, son of Wilhelm and Anna (Gruenler), where he studied and worked until his early relocating to Geelong, Australia after WWII, then settling in Clifton, NJ where he met his wife, Eleanor.

He built his home in Montville, NJ where he raised his family and resided for 39 years. He was also a member of the Ocean Beach Surf Club Unit I since 1977 and in 1999, he and Eleanor permanently retired to Ocean He was a member of the Hawthorne Master Plumbers Association and sole proprietor of Wendt G. n- ger Plumbing Heating in Franklin Lakes, NJ since 1970. passion was sailing. He started sailing as a young man on the Spree River in Berlin, Germany.

He acquired his Captains License in 1986 as well as his of Merit in Celestial Navigation. He completed numerous passages along the NJ coast and Chesapeake Bay, both solo as well as with accompanying crew. He participated as crewmember, helmsman and navigator on journeys from Montauk to Bermuda and from West Palm Beach to the Bahamas to Annapolis, amongst others. His summers were spent cruising on his sailboat, Plum Bum, on Barnegat Bay. Wendt is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eleanor; daughter, Wendy and husband Tim; son, Eric and wife, Mariafe; daughter, Hei di; four grandchildren, Sandra, Anthony, Bianca and Ashley and a great- granddaughter, Ava.

WENDT G. EINFINGER AGE: 85 LAVALLETTE Joseph V. Heinlein, 92, of Eatontown, died on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Long Branch, NJ. Though a former long time resident of Eatontown, he resided at the Chelsea in Tinton Falls. He was born July 24, 1922 in Hewitt, New Jersey.

His family moved to Woodstock, New York in 1933 where he attended the local schools and was a graduate of Saugerties High School in 1940. He enlisted in the Signal Corps in 1942 and attended the Fort Monmouth Signal Schools and graduated top of his class. He was attached to the Army Air Force and assigned to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he taught pilots the operation of new communications equipment. He served his country honorably for over three years and was discharged on January 1st, 1946. In 1946, he was a founding member of the American Legion Post 411 of West Long Branch.

He served in all of the Post, including Post Commander. He was awarded Life Membership with the American Legion. He served as the Monmouth District Commander of the American Legion, and as Chef- de-Gare of La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux of Monmouth County; served three years as the Monmouth County delegate to New Jersey state; and a three year term as County Delegate to State Legion Headquarters. An avid sportsman, he was a member of the Unami Archers Club, the West Lon Branch Club, the United Bowhunters of New Jersey, the State Federation of Clubs, the New Jersey and Pistol Club and the National Association. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ruth Jane (Liebman), his parents, Homer and Josephine, his brothers Homer Abram G.

and his sisters, Mildred, Laura and Hope. Surviving is his daughter, Heidi H. Dengrove of Virginia and many nieces and nephews all from the upper New York area. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 27 at 2 pm at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 992 Broadway, West Lon Branch. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in West Long Branch.

HEINLEIN AGE: 92 EATONTOWN Rosi passed away peacefully at home May 9, 2015 surrounded by family. She was born in Teaneck the second child of Frederick and Delores Treue. Rosie graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School class of 1965. And later became co owner and director of operations overseeing medical practices billing for various specialties at Optimum billing solutions. She is survived by her three children, daughter Shawn and her husband Mike of Virginia Beach, son Robert and his wife Cathy of Point Pleasant Beach and daughter Erin Lynn of Lake Havasu, AZ, adoring grandchildren Alexa Lynn, Robert Brooke and Brendan, Brother Paul and his family of Palm Coast, FL and numerous family and Rosi was active in the Shore Christian Center and touched many lives with her love.

ROSEMARY KNIFFIN AGE: 67 POINT PLEASANT BEACH Katherine H. (nee Knoble) Knipe, 87, was a lifelong resident of Keansburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 13th, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

She was born in Belford, lived in Keansburg until moving to Tinton Falls. Katherine worked at Air Molded products in Matawan, prior to that was a waitress for Diner in Keyport and worked at the Heidelberg on the Keansburg Boardwalk. She was an avid Yankees and Devils fan and enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors at Starks United in Keansburg. Katherine was predeceased by her husband Joseph Knipe in 1989; her brother Stephen and Jerome Knoble and her sisters Irene Durnien and JoAnn Knoble. Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Christina Knipe of Tinton Falls and Kenneth and Karen Knipe of Brick; four grandchildren Joseph Jr Timothy, Gabrielle and Hannah.

Family will be ac- ce pting friends and family on Monday 4-8pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Keansburg. On Tuesday, there will be a Mass at St. Church, Keansburg. Interment to follow at Brigadier General William C.

Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Letters of condolences can be sent to www.jacquelinem ryanfh.com. KATHERINE H. (NEE KNOBLE) KNIPE AGE: 87 KEANSBURG Robert J. Laib, 94, of Brick, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick.

Born in New York City to the late Michael W. and Kathleen Laib, he was a former resident of Lanoka Harbor before moving to Brick in 1994. Mr. Laib proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and went on to become a Foreman with the New York City Transit Authority for 28 years, retiring in 1977.

He was a past county commander of the American Legion of Ocean County and a lifetime member, he was also the past president and life member of the Pine Shore Chapter of Deborah Hospital in Forked River, and a life member of the Air Force Association. Robert was a member of St. R.C. Church, and enjoyed the time spent servin his country and community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Tomillo Laib in 1990.

Surviving are his beloved wife Dolores Melchione Laib, his dear nephew and niece, Lloyd Monterosa and Teresa Monterosa, and his extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. The American Legion will conduct a brief service during the evening hours.

Please call the funeral home for exact time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. R.C. Church, Point Pleasant.

ROBERT J. LAIB AGE: 94 OF BRICK Kurt David Lindstrom, 46 of Eatontown passed away Friday May 15, 2015 at home with his family and extended family of nurses by his side In Red Bank He was a life long Eatontown resident In 1989 Kurt was injured in a drive by shooting while attending The University of North Carolina in Wilmington NC leaving him a quadriplegic. He was a 1987 graduate of Monmouth Regional High School Then attended the University of North Carolina and later Monmouth University was the recipient of the Silver Congressional Award. Kurt was a communicant of St Roman Catholic Church Eatontown. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lucille and John Robson.

Kurt is survived by his parents Jean and George Lindstrom two brothers Matthew, and George and his wife Joy, all of Eatontown, 3 nieces Jessica Megan and Lola, and his Paternal grandparents George Lindstrom of Tavares FL and June Stewart of Little River SC. There will be a memorial gathering at the Thompson Memorial Home on Tuesday May 19, 2015 from 4-7pm, with a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday May 20, 2015 at St R.C Church, Broad St, Eatontown 10 am. KURT DAVID LINDSTROM AGE: 46 EATONTOWN Marie Sara Marquet, 96, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Marie was born in Newark, NJ in 1918.

She graduated from Newark State Teachers College in 1940 and received her Masters Degree in 1943 from Rutgers University. She was a teacher in the Livingston School System, Short Hills Millburn Township and Manchester Township. She moved to Whiting in 1974 and joined the Crestwood Chorus that same year. She was a member of the Residents Club, Garden Club and Club of Crestwood Village III and the Ocean County Retired Educators Association. Marie was a communicant of St.

Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and Library Guild. She was also a CCD teacher. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph E. and Pearl Ryno Marquet. She is survived by many dear cousins and friends.

A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Entombment will follow at St. Cemetery, Sea Girt.

For information and condolences, please visit our website at manchestermemorial.net MARIE SARA MARQUET AGE: 96 WHITING Betty McKnight, 82, of Allenhurst, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born in Long Branch, the daughter of Marian Richard McKnight.

She attended school in Asbury Park and received her BS degree from Monmouth College in 1960. She was an elementary school teacher from 19601966 in Point Pleasant Beach and later worked as a paralegal in addition to fostering 2 girls for several years. Betty attended 1st Church of Asbury Park for many years and then became a member of Ballard Church in Asbury Park. She was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Homes Auxiliary was a member of a knitting group. You rarely saw her at a meeting without her knitting.

On Wednesday, May 27 at 10 a.m., a graveside service will be held at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls, followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service at Ballard UMC. In lieu of owers, donations are to be made to either Ballard Church, Wanamassa First Aid, the Boy Scouts, or the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. BETTY MCKNIGHT AGE: 82 ALLENHURST Michael J. Menzella, 90 of Brick, NJ passed away on Friday May 15, 2015 at his home.

Michael was born in Cliffside Park, and lived in Pallisades Park, NJ before moving to Brick 42 years ago. Michael served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart RC Church, Bay Head, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents Rocco and Louise Menzella. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Madeline (nee Walker) Menzella, his son Michael J.

Menzella, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, his daughters Elaine Miller of Oakland, NJ, and Michele Martins and her husband Manny of Pomptom Lakes, NJ. He is also survived by his brother Gus Menzella of Pallisades Park, NJ; his 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Megan, Katie, Amy, and Aline, and his 2 great grandchildren Michaela and Kinley. The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Monday May 18, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Brick, NJ 08723. She lived in Elizabeth, NJ, where she attended St. School and Battin High School, graduating with honors in 1939. She then entered the employ of Merck Rahway, NJ. During the 48 years of service she was Executive Secretary-Administrative Assistant to several of the top cers. Upon her retirement in 1987 she moved to Manchester, NJ.

She was active there in various activities of interest in Leisure Village West Community, including the Players Group, Tennis, Computer and Investment Clubs. She was a communicant of St. Church, Lakehurst, NJ. Miss Mesgleski is survived by her brother, Joseph F. Mesgleski of Hillside, NJ and Ft.

Lauderdale, Fla. A sister Teresa C. Deegan of Brick, NJ, a sister in law, Mary Mesgleski, Cranford, nine nieces and nephews, twenty grandnieces and nephews and eleven great- grandnieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph A. and Ellen (Kirk) Mesgleski, a brother, Peter J.

She was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on Dec. 13, 1931. Marilyn was an active member of AA and proud of her 26 years of sobriety. She was a graduate of Scotch High School and earned a BA degree from Montclair State Teachers College. Marilyn taught 3rd and 4th graders, and her later career included mortgage banking.

She loved the arts and theater and retired from working at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. She is a past president of the Scotch Plains Players and a former volunteer at Paper Mill Playhouse. She wanted to live near the beach and moved to Leisure Village, Manchester. While a resident there, she performed with the theater troupe and sang with the Westernaires. She loved animals and found joy in taking her Pomeranian Anastasia to visit nursing home patients, and she also supported local animal shelters.

She is preceded in death by her husband James V. Mone and is survived by her children: Glen V. Mone and wife Lori Bainbridge PA); Cheryl Mone, partner Susan Lynn, grandchildren Callie and Zachary (Clinton, NJ); Diane Silver and husband Thomas (Belvidere, NJ); and her loving and devoted companion Austin Lehner (Whiting, NJ). MONE AGE: 83 MANCHESTER Antoinette Murray, died on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Manor by the Sea Nursing Home in Ocean Grove. Mrs. Murray was born in Brooklyn, NY and later moved to Staten Island before settling in New Jersey.

In her early years, Ann owned and operated a successful blouse factory and later went on to a long career with the New York City Board of Education. Antoinette was an avid reader and loved to keep up with current novels and publications. Antoinette was predeceased in death by the love of her life, her husband, Jack and her sister, Mae Schenker, with whom she lived with for over 40 years, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015. She is survived by two sisters, Matilda Schriefer of Tinton Falls and Jennie Misciagna of Frisco, Texas. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews; Jean and Robert Harwood, Francine and Bill Hammerschlag and John Misciagna of Frisco, Texas and Karen and Daniel Catizone of Ocean, New Jersey.

She especially loved her great nieces and nephews; Elizabeth, Melissa and Danielle Hammerschla and Daniel and Christopher Catizone. Memorial Mass will be offered at 11 am on Wednesday, May 20th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Asbury Park. Immediately after Mass, relatives and friends may pay their respects at the home of Karen and Daniel Catizone in Ocean Township. The family requests that in lieu of donations in her memory be made to The American Cancer Society.
