(Spl.) The DePaur Opera Gala, currently in its first cross-country tour, wiJI appear in the Hall of Music at Purdue University tomorrow night at 8 o'clock (CST). Part of the Purdue convocation series, the program will include excerpts from three Broadway operatic successes "Four Saints in Three Acts," "Carmen Jones" and "Porgy and Bess." The DePaur Opera Gala is the successor to the famed de-Paur Infantry Chorus, directed by Leonard dePaur. The company is comprised of 60 members. Schedules Changed The box office at the Indiana will not, open until 12 noon today because of a private invitational screening during the morning. Continuous running of "Bundle of Joy" will start at 12:50 p.m.

PARSONS Hollywood (INS) I have heard Deborah Kerr more excited about any motion picture than she is about "Separate 'ables," which she will make with with Laurence Olivier for Hecht-Hill-Lancaster in England this summer. "I'rr. changed from the bathing girl routine to nlay the shy spinster in the second half of 'Separate My part is in "Number 7," and in that Laurence Olivier plays the major. The two Terence Rattigen playlets are knit together.

Olivier will also direct the second half. He gets here, as you Know, the last of February; and Terence will be here at the same time. "I expect to go to London and take the children right after school is out," said Deborah, "to see the family; and they will live there while we are making 'Separate Tables' at Pinewood Studios in August." CERTAINLY glad Charlie Laughton is going to play the role Francis X. Sullivan created in "Witness for the Prosecution." Sullivan was great, and Lavighton will be just as great. Arthur Hornblow made a special trip to New York to talk to Charles who is appearing in "Major Barbara" both directing and acting in it on Broadway.

Charles will be in mighty good company since the Agatha Christie murder mystery co-stars Tyrone Power and Marlene Dietrich. IN TWO WEEKS, Fred Mac-Murray and June Haver take off for the South to beat the drums for "Gun for a Coward" which stars Fred and is a "sleeper." This, in a way, will be a vacation as well as a business trip, but Fred was told he has to be back the middle of February to start "Decision at Durango," with the same groupGordon Kay, director, and Al Zugsmith, producer working with MacMurray. "Decision at Durango" is based on a magazine story by John Cunningham and has the same excitement as "Gun for a Coward." REPRESENTING the Turkish Government in the filming of "Ataturk," Adil Ozkaptah paid me a visit. He said after "Ataturk" is made by U-I in Istanbul, he looks to see other pictures also filmed in Turkey. Ozkaptah -is married to Eleanor Bernstein, a Cali Jazz Club Dales Art II odes Trio The Art Hodes Trio will be featured at the Indianapolis Jazz Club concert Sunday at 8:30 in the Studion Union building at the Indiana University Medical Center.

The trio played before 350 persons at the John Herron Art Institute in a program a year ago that led to the formation of the Jazz Club. With Hodes at the piano, the trio has Fred Moore on drums, washboard and vocal specialties and Herb Guy playing Finett nttrtainmtnt In I The play, as you may remember from the movie version or the Avondale summer production, relates the curious adventures of two Indianapolis boys, a bachelor and benedict, in the great, big wonderful city of New York. It was, and is, a diverting trifle. THE CAST headed by Hugh Miller, Rita Small, Charles Doseh and Margaret Roberts makes the most of its risible possibilities in a slick performance, as we saw last night at the dress rehearsal. It was alert, polished, and moderately well paced.

And handsomely mounted-Fredric Rhoades conception of a bachelor's apartment is a dandy. The bachelor is Charlie, who always had two left feet where girls were concerned before he left his Indianapolis home. His success with lonely females in the metropolis dazzles him. It also dazzles his friend, Joe, who comes to New York on business, but needs a vacation. CHARLIE, of course, is riding for a fall.

He finally is tripped, or rather trapped, by a designing young lady with a five year plan. Both he and Joe learn a useful fact the only way to have girls is not to marry them. When you marry them, according to the play's philosophy, they become wives, which are something else. Charlie and Joe are ready to settle down by the end of the last act. It's spicy, as farces usually are, but not vulgar.

The four leads are nicely supported by Jean Chappell, Fran Drury, Hugh Sample and Walter Pipp-ert in lessor roles.
