Second Floor Take Elevator any Launary A wild night ride with two pistol-carrying bandits who finally robbed him of money and automobile and left him stranded penniless far from home, was described to police by Herbert Gregory, 33 years old, 1310 Kwing street, early last night. Gregory said he was thrown out of his car by the gunmen at lonely spot near Marklin, a hamlet of iifty Inhabitants in Switzerland county on the Ohio river, and that he spent all day yesterday walking and hitch-hiking his way back to Indianapolis. The kidnaping occurred about 5:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Gregory said. He stated he was driving on Massachusetts avenue and at Olney avenue two men waved him to a halt and climbed into his car, pressing blue-steel revolvers against his body.

"Covered" by Gunman. At their command ho drove to Sherman drive, south to Twenty-iirst street and east to Arlington avenue, where, after a conference, he was told to drive to Columbus. They halted one mile north of Columbus, Gregory said, and one of the two alighted with him, keeping him "covered" with a revolver, while the second gunman took the car into Columbus for gasoline and then returned for them. They passed through North Vernon late at night, Gregory related, and on the road, somewhere near Marklin, they robbed him of $41 and drove away, leaving him standing in the road. Gregory provided police with detailed descriptions of the men, who he said were both about 23 years old.

He is Louis Fisher, 1211 South Meridian street. Turnkey Sweeney said that Fisher gave him the name of Lee Warren, 1251 Cruft street and told him that he had $12 on deposit in the turnkey's ollice and wished to sign his own bond.

After signing the name of Warren to the bail bond Fisher walked away. An hour later Warren awakened and the ruse was revealed. Police spent most of the night vainly seeking Fisher. River Yields Man's Body After Note Gives Clew The body of E. F.

Gates, 52 years old, 305 North New Jersey street, who apparently ended his own life, was found in White river at Twenty-sixth street yesterday. Police were called by Robert Davidson and Wallace Davidson, both of 3140 North Harding street, who found a hat, coat, spectacles and a note bearing the name of Gates on the river bank approximately three hundred feet below the Thirtieth street bridge. The note said "I am in the river." Dr. Frank B. Ramsey, deputy coroner, ordered the body sent to the city morgue.
