Erected honor Fulton County Man Sought to Retrieve Money From House. 7e Sc. ROCHESTER, a desperate effort to retrieve money and valuable papers from his burning home, William A. Clay, 70-year-old farmer, was burned to death early this morning. Smoke from the fire, apparently caused by an overheated kitchen stove on which his wife had been canning peaches, wakened the couple shortly after midnight Saved Once by Wife.

They rushed outside thinly clad, but Clay, recalling the money and papers hidden in a closet, ran back into the house. He was overcome by amoke and his wife braved the nre to drag mm u. Upon reviving Clay made a second to tne dash into the house and died in the flames. Following the fire, searchers found HOO hidden outside the home, part in a log pile, part cached in a buried fruit jar. Survivors are the widow, two sons and a daughter.

WABASH, Ind. Sept. IS. -Fred Aldrich, 39 years old, died in a hospital here this afternoon of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Rich Valley yesterday, bringing the death toll of the accident to two. Buddy Greer.

13 years old, of Detroit, was killed instantly in the accident and three other persons were injured seriously. The Detroit car had pulled off the highway, the occupants planning to spend the night at the roadside, when Aldrich lost control of his car on a curve and crashed into the Detroit auto.
