TV theme, the unwed pregnant teen-ager. This one is approached from the father's point of view, and Lloyd Bochner makes the character believable. As handled here, there's hardly enough to fill an hour, but if the subject matter appeals to you, the last scene is worthwhile. 10:00 P.M. Garry Moore.

Highlights include a few sharp topical digs filed away in a time capsule; Alan final show, last night on a nostalgic note. As was customary, he made no allusion to the fact it was the last show, but slyly put in "Heading for the Last Roundup" and "Always Leave 'Em Laughing When You Say Goodbye" as a gentle hint. Oddly enough, Miller may be going on the air through a statistical fluke. His ratings have been low according to Nielsen. But the company admits that most of its precious 1100 rated sets are in a younger age bracket Since Miller's show appeals to middle-aged and older people, It may have been left out in the cold.

Nielsen is currently working up a new sample and when it is completed Miller might get the green light only unfortunately he won't be around that long. Although we are not Miller fans and think he could put on the same show every week without too many complaints from viewers, still he does project an atmosphere of nostalgia and sentiment that is rare on video. Realizing he has older viewers, Miller, by design or accident, has included a number of older men in his chorus. Probably so viewers will have someone with whom to identify.
