A 4-year-old girl was burned to death today and her mother died in a futile and unnecessary effort to save her. The girl, Betty Packard, already had been carried, fatally burned, from a blazing house when the mother, Mrs. Leona Packard, 45 years old. ran into the residence, thinking the child was there. The fire started with the overturning of a kerosene lamp.

Graham-Paige Motors Corporation reports second quarter sales exceeded like 1932 period by 18 pf cent. FRUITS AND VEGETABLES Prices maintained a steady trend along commission row for the early part of the week, with ths only exceptions sudden strength In potato prices and some seasonal downward, revisions. Potato advances were believed by dealer, to herald general Increases throughout the list of fruits snd vegetables in the near future, due to bad crop conditions and advances of other commodities. Virginia Cobbler potatoes were up 50 cents to 75 cents at $3.60 a 100-pound bag, and Western Cobblers 50 cents at $3.25. Early harvest and El Dorado blackberries were higher.
