A10 lllSATURDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2014 KY THE COURIER-JOURNALlll DEATHS 98, passed from this earthly life to eternal life with our Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. He was born on October 5, 1916 in Marion County, KY, served in the during World Wa II and worked fo Cherokee Dairy for 35 years until he retired in 1976. His dedication to the Lord was made plain by his joyful service to Buechel Park Baptist Church, where he was a member for ove 60 years, and where he has held positions from Sunday School Superintendent, to Trustee to Deacon. He is survived by the true love of his life, Mildred Bayne Hayes Tharp to whom he was married for over 76 years. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Linda Wittig (Rob ert, dec) and Bob Tharp (Kathy); grandchildren, Robert Wittig, III, Ryan Wittig, Kara Thompson (TJ), Becky Farthing (James), Laura Oser (Todd), and four great-grandchildren.

His sense of warmth, humor, and undying helpfulness will be missed by many. His funeral is noon Monday at Buechel Par Baptist Church, 2403 Hikes Lane with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is 1-6 p.m. Sunday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Memorial gifts: Hosparus or the memorial fund at his church.

THOMAS WANDA LEE, 79, of Louisville, KY passed away on December 11, 2014. Wanda was born on February 10, 1935, in Louisville, KY to the late Raymond Moore and Ruby (Carter) Boehnlein. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Holbert Thomas; and three son-in-laws. Wanda is survived by her children, Wanda Kay Barnett, Donna Jean Chamberlain, Steven Wayne Hall and Brenda Sue Provansano; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, and one brother. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m.

on Satur day, December 13, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, and resume on Sunday, from 9 a.m. until time of service. (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). A Funeral Ceremony to honor the life Wanda will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Decembe 14, 2014 at the funeral home.

Shumake Daughters in charge. 85, of Titusville, FL, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, at Hosparus Louisville. After spending 25 years in Florida, he returned to Louisville, his adopted city to be close to family and friends. He was born in Claysburg, PA, on December 8, 1929 to the late Paul D. and Emma Wright.

Paul was a 20 year veteran the U. S. Army, SFC. He served one year in the Korean ict and two tours in Vietnam. After his service he entered the hotel business in Louisville with the McGiffen Hotel Group where he managed all of the Holiday Inns.

He relocated to Florida to be close to his parents and brother; where he also managed the Holiday Inns in Daytona Beach and Titusville. Paul was an avid horse racing fan, having attended Ky. His Derby highligh was in 1974, which was the 100th running the Derby. Angel Cordero was a guest at his hotel. Paul was honored to drive Angel to the track early that Saturday morning.

He felt tha he shared a little bit of history when Angel won the Derby later that day. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Page Wright; and sister, Margaret Wall. Survivors include his children, Paul Wrigh Jr. (Julie), Louisville; Zane Wright Roaring Spring, PA, Curtis Wright, (Tina) Altoona, PA; grandchildren, Nick Wright, Taylor Wright, Molly Wright, Jamie Richardson, and Danielle Wright; three great-grandchildren; brother, Wilbert Wright (Jeannie) Lakeland, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Churchill Downs, Champions Room, Gate 17 from p.m.

She was from Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Ohio and New York City, New York. Born June 3, 1925. Charles C. Leonard and her son, Joseph P. Burnett Jr. Survivors include her husband, John Yartz; sons, Richard Hageman II (Elizabeth Hoge Hageman) and Robert Hageman; her grandchildren, Mary A. Eloise Hageman, Richard B.

Hageman III (Beth Chaney) and James H. Hageman (Penny Hickerson, a great- grandson, Peyton Hoge Hageman; a step-great- grandson, Conner James Fox; sister-in-law, Nancy Leonard from Texas; several nieces, nephews and beloved friends, Francis G. Coady, Betty Ann Broecker and Helen Morehead. She was a former John Robert Consultant and High Fashion Model, Ms. Equestrian of the United States in 1946, attended the Arts Students League in New York and also studied at Hunters College.

In 1947, she returned to Louisville attending the University of Louisville Art School, meeting model, Jean Ochs. They started the rst Louisville Modeling School and Agency, The Academy of Charm. She was a former member of the Fillies where, for two years, she painted the scenic backdrop and created artwork for the decorations. Later under the name of her company, Talents Unlimited, she held art classes and created Der- and Christmas gift items sold throughout the United States. She has shown work at the Speed Museum of Louisville, eld Scarce, and several designs at the Atlanta Merchandise Markets and gave a Christmas diaroma to the J.

F. Kennedy Library. Member of the Owl Creek Country Club, The Louisville Pendennis Club, The Del Ray Beach Club in Florida, Louisville Club, Chairman of Society of Craft Designers, with a winter home in Highland Beach, Florida and was a long time member of St. Church on Maple Lane, in Anchorage, KY. Visitation will be at Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243, on Sunday, December 14th from 1-5 p.m.
