A total of 1,486,790 ingot tons was recorded for the month, the most since March, 1960, when the output was 1,543,583 tons, university analysts wrote in the current issue of the Indiana Business Review.

SOME 1,800 workers were added by steel mills in the Gary-Hammond-East Chicago area, the report said, lowering unemployment in the region from 7 per cent in January to 5.8 per cent of the labor force. A drop was reported in state-wide unemployment from 4.7 per cent in February to 4.4 per cent in March, a figure the researchers said is well below the national level of 5.6 per cent. Severe February weather was blamed by the I.U. analysts for a decline of 2.1 per cent in total construction. They said that after reaching record high in February, industrial electricity sales fell 2.7 jer cent in March but still was 5 per cent higher than a year ago.

March declines in bank debits and coal production also were reported. tory from 1801 to 1817 with emphasis on public affairs. Dr. Davis proposes to study effects of capital immobility structure and location of U.S. and British industry.
