Teens Involved in Schroon LakeNY recently with teens from around the country They compet ed in every area of church min istry including preaching Bible quizzing creating writing and all areas of church music and chil work Local contestants included Jor dan Cavett son of Pam Cavett of Oakland City and the late Chuck i Cavett Carla and Jill Middleton daughters of Jeff and Tammy Mid dleton rancisco David Thomas son of Ken and Pat Thomas Oak 1 land City Andy John and Matt Whitten sons of Ed and EllaMay Whitten Princeton and Adam Willis son of Allan and Susan Willis Somerville The top five entries in each divi sion were announced at the award ceremony Trophies were given to the first and second place winners and senior high winners were also awarded scholarships to the Word of Life Bible Institute McCullough club entered one junior high and eight senior high events earning a total of $975 in scholar ships To qualify for the competition each entry had to win in the area and placed third in junior high Bible story telling Traveling with the teens were the Rev and Mrs Ken Thomas Mr and Mrs Ed Whitten and Lillian Whitten and Joy Palmer Danville Ill Mr and Mrs Stanley Thomas of Belmont Ma also attended the competition During the return trip they vis ited Niagra alls and attended the Gospel Baptist Church in the Youngstown Ohio area where they ministered in the morning
