Dear Mary Haworth: Before I entered college last September I became engaged to Jay, a neighbor boy. He Is 19 and I soon will be Our families are neighbors and members of the same church; and Jay and I have gone everywhere together since childhood. Being congenial, and liking the same sports- swimming, riding and were considered an ideal couple by parents and friends. Thus it seemed a natural thing to accept his ring; and I was very sure I was in love.

Jay didn't want to go to college. He got a job and started saving money for marriage. My parents insisted that I come here, where I have an aunt, and attend a co-ed Claim Highest Mine CRESTED BUTTE, Operators of the Koresta mine nea Crested Butte claim it la the high est coal mine in the United States university for at least a year. It has been a wonderful experience. For the first time I have had the companionship of other boys my really dating, as I still wear Jay's ring; but walking from class, dancing at dormitory parties, etc.

I didn't know life could be such fun; and I have decided that I don't love probably never did. I am not in love with anyone else. Does it sound terribly fickle, just to fall out of love like that? I want to be honest with Jay, but I am a little afraid of what his reaction may be. He is inclined to be impulsive and tense about things, and has never gone out with any girl but me. All his'plans are for Jngly paving the way for your recent change of heart.

Maybe they never were fully sold on your school girl theory that you and Jay made a Bring it "Home" for Service ST. GEORGE MOTOR CO. "Your friendly ford Dtalgr" I. Cumberland, 180 our marriage; but I want to finish college now that I've started. Jay is a really wonderful boy; I think he has all the virtues, but compared to boys I've met here, he is almost childish in some respects.

He defers to his parents a great deal, and they simply worship him; but that never bothered me, as they are fine people and I like them; and they have treated me at a daughter for severa years. Should She Delay Or Break Off Nmv? What should I do? Urge Jay to perfect team. Perhaps they had misgivings about the effects upon your life of his childish character and his parents' possessiveness, in the event you should marry him. It occurs to me that they had something in mind aside from a brief academic whirl or a glimpse of the larger world for you, when they shipped you off to a co-ed college "for at least a year," just when you were preparing to coast into marriage to Jay. I think they were prudently thrusting upon you the opportunity to "find yourself" association with a variety of that you might see Jay in letter perspective, before making a final commitment.

Thus I doubt hat they will be much disappointed hear that you've already lost interest in him and want the experience of a full college course. The general tenor of your "second thoughts" about Jay, as well as your references to your parents' attitudes (past and potential), indicate that your relatoinship with them is excellent, and the results beneficent. It is good that you can count on them to bring an open mind to realities, even those they disapprove; and that you know them to be emotional, warmhearted Flood Control Work Resumes start dating other girls? Should I wait until next summer to break to give him time to get accustomed to eparation from me? I plan to stay lere next summer and work. He has ften threatened to run away from home If we ever broke up; and that would simply kill his parents, who would blame me; and I don't want that on my conscience.

My will be very disappointed, I know; but I intend to tell them how I feel, and I can count on their understanding. But I imagine well all take a rather emotional view; and I'd like your objective opinion to counteract that. E. O. Girl Is Backed By Wise Parents Dear E.

And I think your idea of doing It gradually is probably wise. The merciful (and honest) explanation, to begin, is that you intend to continue college work for several years, iintil you get a degree; and during this time you will be away from home more or less the year round.

The building of the control tower and placing of the huge gates Is all that remains of the river project, he stated. The local flood control will not be delayed in any manner because of the curtailment of materials during the national crisis, Donaldson related.
