David McIntosh Owen Hattiesburg Harry Merritt, Jr. Yazoo City Harry Madison (Buddy) Merritt, Jr. passed away on April 23, 2015 at Oasis Health Rehab in Yazoo City, MS. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr.

Merritt was born on June 8, 1945 at the U. S. Naval Base in Oakland, CA, to Harry Madison Merritt, Sr. and Hattie Mae Woodruff Merritt. He graduated from Yazoo City High School in 1963 and from Mississippi State University with a B.S.

in Industrial Engineering in 1968. He was retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS. He was preceded in death by his arents, Harry Madison Merritt, Sr.

and Hattie Mae Woodruff Merritt. He is survived by his sister, Wanda Merritt Fisher and husband, Wiley of Yazoo City, MS and one brother, Keith B. Merritt of Tupelo, MS; two daughters, Laurie Norman of Jackson, MS and MacKenzie Merritt of Columbus, MS; one stepdaughter, Faey Quizzagan of Vicksburg, MS; and one son, Michael Merritt an wife, Buffie of Benton, MS. He had 7 grandchildren, Neeley Norman, Jane Kathryn Norman, Mason Norman, Macie Merritt Daniels and husband, Jason, Davis Merritt, Hayden Merritt and Madison Grace Rackard. At Mr.

request, no services are planned. Rose W. Tidmore Brandon Rose W. Tidmore, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Merit Health Rankin. Visitation will be from 3pm 6pm Friday, May 1, 2015 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Ms. Tidmore was dedicated to her career starting at the bottom and working her way up to Executive Secretary. She was awarded 1980 Woman of the Year by the Chimneyville Chapter of the American Business Association.

She retired from South Central Bell after 38 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement years and was able to spend time doing things that she loved. Some of her favorites were gardening and painting and her beloved pets. She is survived by her son, Hollis Tidmore; daughter, Sharon Vines (Ebb); granddaughter, Ashley Vines Beatty and great grandsons, Wyatt and Waylon Beatty. Carolyn Ferguson Pryor ackson Carolyn Ferguson Pryor as born on December 25, 1935 in DeWitt, Arkansas and passed away on April 29, 2015 in Jackson, Mississippi. In those 79 years, she did a lot of living. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in pharmacy, worked as the sole pharmacist at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson until she met and married, Shap Pryor. She lived in Jonesboro, Arkansas for most of her life where she raised her family and lived life to the fullest.

Her last 10 years were spent in Jackson, Mississippi so that she could be closer to Ole Miss football games, her 3 children (Lesley, Lyn and Pard) and 4 grandchildren (Will, Hallie, Bailey, and Mary Morgan). Carolyn (known to many as Bobo and Smiley) loved her family, friends, dogs, Ole Miss, her years of playing tennis, reading, babies of all sorts, and all of her Melton Drive kids. She and her fam- ily simply could not have made it these last 4 years with the help, support, and very good care of Loretta Powell, Keysha Norwood, Sarah Gray, Josette Moore, Porsha Moore, Deanne Gilbert and Debra King. She is survived by her children, Lesley Pryor Mosb (Rush), Lyn Pryor Crawford, Shapard Hanner Pryor, Jr. (Stacey Jo); her grandchildren, Will Mosby (Betsey), Hallie Mosby, Bailey Pryor and Mary Morgan Pryor and her sisters, Nancy Ferguson Rasco and Becky Ferguson Ehrlicher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shapard Pryor and her parents, Elmer and Gladys Ferguson. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson, with a visitation starting at 12:00 pm. Jim was retired after 37 ears of service from South Central Bell Company. He as a member of Clinton United Methodist Church and Live Oaks Golf Club. He loved golf, tennis, fishing, and the Kentucky Wildcats. He was born in Leitchfield, KY the son of the late, C.R. and Elma Ree Citty.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane; his son, Jimmy and wife, Tammy of Lufkin, TX; his daughter, Jennifer of Dallas and two grandsons, Chase and Tyler Greening and poodle, Jake. Visitation will be Friday, May 1st, from 5-7 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 2nd at 1 pm at First United Methodist Church Clinton. Claire Meeks Cranford Edwards Claire Meeks Cranford, 86, of Edwards, Mississippi peacefully passed away at her home in Edwards, on Thursday morning, April 30, 2015.

Claire was born in Wrightsville, Georgia and moved to Edwards when she was 8 years old. She and Roland met at Hinds Junior College and were married on September 5, 1948. Claire was the longest living member of Edwards United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She participated in the Edwards Garden Club and worked at the Bank of Edwards as a book keeper until she retired. She and Roland loved to travel and have visited 49 of the 50 states.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Roland Cranford; her son, Wayne Cranford (Tina) and granddaughters, Robyn Cranford LeMaistre (Collin) and Stephani Cranford. The joy of her life was her great granddaughter and namesake, Alyssa Claire. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Forgey and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Remus Meeks. The service will be held Saturday, May 2 at the Edwards United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at the church from with services being held afterwards. Burial will be at Edwards Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roland and Claire Meeks Cranford Scholarship at Hinds Community College.

Hinds Community College Foundation, P.O. Box 1100, Raymond, MS 39154. John Willis McCauley Oxford John Willis McCauley, 79, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home is Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church in Oxford, MS with Rev.

Eddie Rester and Rev. Warren Black officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening, May 1, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.

at Waller Funeral Home and Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at the church. Born in Philadelphia, MS, to the late, George Joshua and Margaret Hallye Parkes McCauley, Mr. McCauley had retired after 30 years as Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Mississippi and 25 years as director of the Jazz Program.

He served as a Master Sergeant in the National Guard. He has been a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church since 1971. He was admitted into the Ole Miss Jazz Hall of Fame in 1986 and was listed in Who in American High School Band Directors. He composed the Philadelphia, MS High School Alma Mater in 1952. Mr.

McCauley received many jazz awards including Second Place at the Mobile Jazz Festival in 1998, winner of the Shreveport Jazz Fest in 1995 and received Outstanding Jazz Soloist at the 1968 Mobile Jazz Fest. He as a jazz soloist, judge and conductor throughout the Southeastern United States. He played first trumpet part in the Mississippi All-Star Band in 1953 and 1954 and was a marching band director in the All State Band in 1966. As a high school band director he produced all superior bands in seven of the nine years he taught in Crystal Springs and Kosciusko, MS. He supervised and taught music education students and student teachers from 1977 2000.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirle Ann Godbold McCauley. Mr. McCauley is survived by his daughter, Mary M. Knight of Port Chester, NY and his son, John Michael McCauley of Oxford, MS. Memorial contributions in Mr.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Willie LaFaye Little; daughter, Melissa Bankston; son, Ronald Little; sister, Margaret Perry; three granddaughters, Harleigh Little, Emery Johnson and Alexis Little; and son-in-law, Dion Bankston.
