FOUR THE TIMES, Hometown Newspaper for Brookshire and Katy Thursday, May 14, 1959 Several Accidents Occur Sunday During Heavy Traffic An accident involving two cars on the Brazos River bridge, another involving 5 cars just this side of the river, and another one mile east of Brookshire all happened between 6 and 6:30 Sunday afternoon in the almost "bumper to bumper" traffic on Highway 90. Patrolman Saegert who was kept pretty busy for awhile on Sunday evening, said the traffic was the heaviest it had been in sometime. The officer was called to the Brazos River bridge when Cpl. Alilano Perez of North Carolina, driving a borrowed 1956 Dodge was in collision with a 1957 Plymouth driven by Alberto Serna of Houston, when the latter slowed down in a line of traffic. The Dodge hit from the rear by the Plymouth and was turned across the bridge.

The officer said no one was hurt but was around $800 damage to both cars. A 1947 Plymouth driven by Geo. Arnold of Houston stopped in a line of traffic and the fourth car behind him, a '56 Chevrolet driven by Norris Johnson of Houston hit the car in front of him; a '56 Chevrolet driven by Geo. Thomas of Houston; then he in turn hit a '52 Chevrolet driven by Nancy of Houston; then he hit the car in front of or '5-1 Ford driven by Lloyd Koble of Houston; and ne inen nit the stopped Plymouth. All the cars except one had to be towed in and the patrolman estimated that there was close to $2000.

Miss Juanita Feik and Arnold Ates of Tomball were taken to Methodist Hospital in Houston on Sunday evening by Schmidt ambulance following a collision with a car driven by Franklin Sebesta of Pasadena as they were turning from Hiway 90 onto the Johnsue road.

Mrs. Ruth L. Marsh and Carolyn Marsh, passengers in the Sebesta car were also hospitalized in Methodist Hospital. Ates has been charged with failing to yield the right of way. Patrolmen Joseph and Nord of the Texas Highway stationed in Houston, were the investigating officers.
