HE HAS SERVED two years active duty in the U.S. Navy and Is now a personnelman first class in the Naval Reserve. Lark Welder Seeks Representative Post Bpyd M. Stevens, welder at the Lark Mine, Monday filed as a candidate for the Democratic nomlna- potion for state representative In District No. 20.

A native of the Uintah Basin, Mr. Stevens has resided In Salt Lake County for 17 years. He was a founder of the Edgemont Civic Organization in Mr. Stevens White City. Communication Workers of America from seven western states were told Monday night by Bruce A. Thoren. Denver, District 8 Representative. "WE ARE primarily con-; cerned with workers 40 years of age and older, who, through no fault of their own, find themselves unemployed, Mr. Thoren declared.

It is true that America today is producing more goods than it can consume. It is also true that more people are now employed in the United States than at any other time in history, but.it is also a frightful fact that there are more unemployed than ever before, Mr. Thoren added.
