B. Hankins, of the Virginia side, left last evening for Washington, where she will attend the wedding ot her son, Rutus A. Hankins, and Miss Inez Bradford, which will be solemnized Tuesday. She will return home by way of Norfolk, where ehe will atop tor a few days' visit with her daughter, Mrs. George Huggins.

Fairview A. 3 Impressive Program Planned For Tree-Planting Ceremony Exercise Sponsored By Bluefield Woman's Club Will Be Held Monday Afternoon At 2:30 At Preston Street School, And Public Invited Tho Fairview Parent-Teacher association win meet Tuesday. Edwards' class, College Avenue Baptist cluirch, met Friday evening at the home of Mrs M. Rish, Vineyard street, with all members present. Interesting games were eujoyed during the social hour under the direction of Kathleen TJughett. One of the cleverost and most interesting of the contests consisted of a display of biblical pictures, the members being required to tell the stories represented by the pictures. Another pleasing feature was a "gossip' game, a story being whispered by one to the other, with a little added with each 'repetition, in a truly "gossipy" manner.

Ann Rish, charming young daugh ter of the hostess, entertained.with a beautiful piano solo. During the social hour, those present were served a dainty salad course. Incident to a formal tree-planting, in honor ot George Washington, 'Father bf His Country," whose 200th anniversary in to be celebrated throughout the nation in 1932, there will he an impressive program presented Monday afternoon at 2:30 at Preston street school. The ceremonial te sponsored by the Bluefield Woman's club and will immediately follow, the club's social meeting, in the form of a luncheon, to he served Monday at 12.30 at Christ Episcopal church. The selection of trees and the arrangements for the program for the ceremonial were in charge of a committee composed of Mrs.

John Kee and Mrs. Ben S. Johnson. Representatives of Cole's Flower shop Bluefield Delphian Chapter Bluefield Delphian chapter will meet In regular session Monday afternoon at 2: 45 at Warllck'e p'ano rooms. "The Road Back" will supervise the planting.

Recital Friday Evening "The Road Back" is the title of a comedy in three acts to be presented the Epworth league of Grace Methodist church. Tuesday, May 12, in the Beaver high school auditorium. The cast is composed of a group of Beaver ernduates.

The play is very ahiv directed by Miss Jennie Lou Tynes, and promises to bo one ot the most entertaining stage presentations of the season. The scene is laid in a cheap tenement house In Blainvllle, and depicts the lite of a modest, careworn family that is lust drifting along until Jenny, the eldest daughter decides that something muet he done to regain the family prestige. Jenny and her brother, George, a shitty, ne'er-do-well boy of nineteen, arc employed in a bank. Jenny has saved some money and proposes to move across the river.

She makes a payment on a house. Coincident to this turn of affairs for the Fowler fainlly, a theft is revealed at the I hank. George is suspected, and in attempting to evade arrest, causes suspicion to he shifted to his sister, Jenny. Jenny is summoned to court Broderick. Miss Hazel Charlton, to John Horace Henry, of Welch, the wedding to take place in June. The rooms were beautifully decorated with cut flowers, and the I lighted candles placed at intervals about the rooms, with tho adorned electric lights, enhanced the beauty of the party. Tho color scheme of pink, green and yellow in the pastel shades was carried out to the minutest detail in the lovely refres- ments served late in the evening. Tho guests were met at the door by Misses Rose Robinson and Ella Wiley, and escorted to the receiving line, which was composed of Mrs. Andrew J.

Smith and her three daughters, Mlsa Hazel, Helen and Mrs. Augustus C. Mullens. Mrs. Ray Wyland, of Welch, Mrs.

Henry Trenor and Miss Virginia Fisher delighted the guests with several vocal solos, and Miss Anna. Stratton rendered a beautiful piano solo. Miss Mabelle Durham presided at the piano, while the guests were assembling. A huge rose was presented to tho bride-to-be, and with the assistance of her sister. Helen, she opened the ot B'nai B'rith lodge.

Bernard J. Wagner is to be the speaker, and there will he attractive musical turcs. The Mother's clay program of B'nai B'rith lodge has in former years been of a most beautiful nature, and the program for this evening indicates tho service this year will be equally as impressive as in the past. Tom phln, in a pleasing manner and as a surprise feature, took advantage ot occasion and presented tho pastor, the Rev. W. M. Jones, with a beautiful and artistically decorated 'birthday cake, he having observed bis birth anniversary Monday. May 4.
