day after emails and text messages revealed his adminis tration may have closed highway lanes to exact political retribution There was likely to be fallout for the second time in weeks given that the gover nor issued a statement Wednesday saying he was and deeply by the revelations He said he was misled by a key aide and he denied involvement completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my he said in the statement will be held responsible for their The governor was set to answer questions at the Statehouse at 11 am Just weeks after he announced the resignation of a top appointee at the center of the contro versy During a previous news conference Christie had called a Democratic led state investigation into the incident politically motivated and joked that he had a regional trans portation issue into a national conversation raising new questions about the ambitious leadership Critics quickly emerged across New Jersey and beyond high profile Demo crats and Bridge which runs between New Jersey and New York City Disputes in Iran nuclear deal VIENNA (AP) Nearly seven weeks after signing a landmark nuclear deal rep resentatives of Iran and six world powers hope to reach agreement this week on its implementation But differences over Teh push to improve its uranium enrich ment abilities could further delay enact ment and strengthen critics of the accord in Washington and Tehran Both sides say agreement is possible at a two day meeting in Geneva with caveats European Union spokeswoman Maja Kocijanic said issues remain to be during the discussions a skeptical Limiting enrichment with centrifuges that spin at supersonic speed to increase the ratio of fissile isotopes is one of the core aims of the six month interim deal Under the November agreement Iran agreed to limit its uranium enrichment to 5 percent the grade commonly used to power reactors The deal also commits it to stop producing 20 percent enriched uranium which is only a technical step away from weapons grade material and to neutralize its 20 percent stockpile At the same time the agreement allows Tehran to continue enrichment research and development a loophole the two officials say Iran interprets as allowing it to continue producing 20 percent uranium at its research and development site at Natanz south of Tehran Iranian negotiators say that no additional 20 percent material will be accumulated because any made at the site will be imme diately neutralized said the officials who represent countries that are members of the Vienna based UN nuclear agency
