She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Myron G. Johnson, her sister brother-in-law, Betsy Bill Leachy and her brother, Alvin Hartley.

She is survived by her sons Bruce (Susan), Richard (Maura), and Paul of Cincinnati, OH and her dear daughter Gail L. Johnson of Westfield, NY. She also leaves behind her dear granddaughters Katie Johnson, Christine Johnson, Alison Johnson and Emily Johnson. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews Mark Hartley (Brenda), Matthew Hartley (Amy), Laurie Jaquin (Ron), Holly Hartley, Leigh Hartley (Carl), Lynn Dunn, and Missy Dindorf (Steve). Elinor was born in East Aurora, NY on April 14, 1919 and came to Cincinnati to attend the Conservatory of Music where she graduated with a major in voice and organ.

It was at the University where she met her husband Myron, President of Myron G. Johnson Son Lumber Company. Music was a life-long passion and she was active with the Clifton Music Club, the Sigma Alpha lota International Music Sorority and was an avid supporter of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Her other greatest passion was Chautauqua Institution where the family spent most of their summers enjoying symphonies, opera, theater, art, lectures, the lake and antique shopping. She was a life member of the Chautauqua Women's Club and a life member of the Chautauqua Literary Circle and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Elinor and her family lived on Raeburn Dr. for many years. After her husband's passing she moved into the Evergreen Retirement Community where she was a resident until her passing. Friends and family may call on Saturday March 9, 2013 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm for visitation, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm and, a reception from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Blue Spruce Chapel in the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati.
