one of Wilkes-Barre's first resident graduate nurses, died of complications yesterday at her home, 630 Hazle Street. She was stricken about seven weeks ago and never rallied. Mrs. Fagan was a of the late Monsignor James F. Fagan, pastor St.

Gabriel's Church, Hazleton, and who was adminis trator of the Scranton Diocese of the Catholic Church following the death of Bishop M. J. Hoban. For more than twelve years, until she retired in 1982, Mrs. Fagan had charge of the office of WilkesBarre General Hospital dally from 8 until 11 p.

m. Mrs. Fagan was born in Belfast, Ireland, on October 23, 1866, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mre. Henry A.

Reid. When six years of age she came to this country with her parents. They settled in Sugar Notch, but within several years the family moved to this city. She was graduated as a nurse of St. Luke's Hospital, South Bethlehem, in the class of 1889 and returned to this city as a resident graduate nurse.

Her father, the late Henry A. Reid, ran a private school in the old Musio Hall, where Hotel Sterling now stands, and afterward he was a teacher in the old Wilkes-Barre school system and was a Wilkes-Barre school director. Mrs. Fagan was the wife of the late Patrick C. Fagan, Jr.

In 1920 she became -e of those in charge of the office at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and remained there until last year when she retired to enjoy rest at her Hazle Street home. Her early professional training was evident in the years she was attached to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was patient, understanding, and had a personality which won her many friends. Personally or over the telephone she came in contact with thousands of persons, all of whom will mourn her loss. She was a member of St.

Patrick's Church, the Altar and Rosar Society of the Church, the L. C. B. and the alumni of St. Luke's Hospital of South Bethlehem.

Mrs. Fagan leaves two children, Dr. James F. Fagan of Plains and Rosemary Fagan Finn at home; one sister, Mica Anna A. Reid at home: and three brothers, Harry A.

Reid of Jersey City; Alexander Reid of Bayonne, N. and George Reid of this city. She also leaves five grandchildren. Joseph Stewarts, Sportsman, Dies Joseph Stewarts, 46, of 705 Foote Avenue, Duryea, died early Sunday. morning at Taylor Hospital, following two year's illness of complications.

Effie Robertson, 'Ill One Year, Dies Mrs. Effie Robertson, 80, who resided with her daughter, Mrs. James Patton, 213. Blackman Street, West Pittston, died yesterday morning at 9:30 following a year's illness of complications Mrs. Robertson had resided In West Pittston for 45 years and was well known and esteemed.

Her. death has caused general sorrow among her legion of friends. She was a member of West Pittston Presbyterian Church and women's organizations thereof. She leaves the following children: W. H.

Robertson of West Pittston, Mrs. James Patton and Mrs. Harry Blank of West also 11. grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2.

Interment will be In West Pittston Cemetery, Mrs. John Dunnigan, Church Worker, Mrs. John Dunnigan, 73, highly esteemed resident of 60 Westminster Street, died on Saturday morning at the family home, Mrs. Dunnigan was born in Slatington and had been a resident of Wilkes for 50 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Dunnigan celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 10. Mrs. Dunnigan WAS lifelong resident of this city and had been 8 communicant of.

St. Aloysius Church for more than 85 years. She was a member of Altar and Rosary Society and took an active interest in church affairs. She was a woman of pleasing personality and always ready to help those in need. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Mrs.

G. H. Walsh, Lillian, James, John and Mrs. Harry Eck, and 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the family home on Tuesday morning at 9 with a high mass of requiem in St.

Aloysius Church at 9:30. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Hanover. Mrs. Joseph Cray, 65, West Pittston, Dies Mrs.

Elizabeth Cray, 65, wife of Joseph of 221 Spring Street, West Pittston, died yesterday morning at following a prolonged 111- ness. Mrs. Cray had resided in Pittston all her lifetime and was well known and respected there. Her death has caused much sorrow. She was the daughter of the late Mr.

Philip communicant of St. Aloysius's Church. EDWARD R. THOMAS Edward R. Thomas, 45, a former resident of this city, died on Saturday night in Scranton State Hospital.

He was stricken ill in Scranton several days ago while en route to this city to visit relatives. Mr. Thomas resided in. Syracuse, N. for the last 14 years, living with his brother, Tudor Thomas.

He served in the United States Army for 15 years. The remains have been removed to the home of his father, Edward Thomas, 119 Gilligan Street. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. William Druff, and three brothers, David G. Edward R.

and Harold all of Wilkes Barre. DANIEL H. JAMES The funeral of Daniel H. James, 63, a former resident of Parsons who died on Friday, will be held this afternoon at 2 from the family home, 226 Union Street, Taylor, followed by services in Congregational Church at Taylor. McLAUGHLIN The death of Mrs. Mary Moran McLaughlin, wife of Patrick McLaughlin, well known Lehigh Valley Railroad engineer, died on Saturday morning at her home, 830 New Hancock Street, East End, following an illness of complications.

Born in Hudson Mrs. McLaughlin was the daughter of Michael and Mary Moran, early settlers of the East End section of the city. She was a communicant of Holy Savior Church and was "affiliated with Altar and Rosary Society of the church, C. B. A.

C. MRS. AURORA IPPOLITO Mrs. Aurora Ippolito, 82, of 216 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston, died Saturday afternoon following a protracted illness. Mrs.

Ippolito resided with her niece, Mrs. R. L. Mantione, wife of Dr. Rosario Mantione: Born in Italy she came to this country more than 80 years ago and 'until recent years resided in Pittston.

She was a member of St. Rocco's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society, Her survivors include one Miss Margaret Lombardi and one brother, Dr. John Lombardi of Waterbury, and three nieces, Mrs. Man- M. tione of West Pittston; Mrs.

Rocco's Church, Pittston. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, JAMES M'KAIG James McKalg of Sayre, formerly of Pittston, died last Thursday at his home, 107 Miller Street, Sayre. His funeral will be held today. Burial will be in Sayre.

He had resided In Sayre since moving from Pitteton 20 years ago and had been employed by the Lehigh Valley Rattroad, He served a term as common councilman from the Eleventh Ward of Pittston, being succeeded by John J. WILLIAM SHIPKOWSKI The funeral 'of William Shipkowski, 651 South Market Street, Nanticoke, was held on Saturday morning and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Following brief services at the home the funeral procession proceeded to Holy Trinity Church where a requiem high mass was celebrated by the rector, Rev. Roman Wieziolowski. Floral tributes were carried by Frank Gajewski, Edward Grygen, Louis Henry Shipkowski, Joseph Gryger, Bieda, Stanley Koncenski and Leo Andrucewiez.

Interment was in the church cemetery, SIMON YANULEWICZ Funeral services for Simon Yanulewiez, prominent Polish resident of 28 West Grove.
