The two, both Chino High graduates, were married Sunday, July 23, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The groom was still in the U.S. Marines, having served in the South Pacific.

The bride was in nurse training. They had a brief honeymoon at the Mission Inn in Riverside. Another longtime Chino couple who celebrated their 50th this year were Trino and Vera Perez. A reception was held April 29 at the DES Hall, and several members of the original wedding party were present. Anthony Michael Bur-key was born to Chino residents Michael and Lisa Burkey April 21 at U.S.

Sunnie Fronek Camp a more proficient operation. Located in Chino next to the California Institution for Men, the camp is run jointly by the CDF and the California Department of Corrections. Prado camp houses 14-man firefighting crews. One of the crews is assigned to the initial attack helicopter program operated in cooperation between CDF and the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department. When not fighting fires, the camp crews work for different local, state and federal agencies.

His Eagle project was the preparation and painting of 1,000 feet of white fence at Valle Vista Park in Chino Hills. He supervised a crew of 35 on two Saturdays. His court of honor will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Mormon Stake Center on Eucalyptus Avenue. Greg has also earned his bronze and gold palm, and has served as a scribe, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, and senior patrol leader.

The California Department of Forestry (CDF) and Fire Protection's Prado Conservation Camp has a new boss. Division Chief Sunnie Fronek who took over on July 1, replaces Division Chief Jan Newman who retired last year.

His arrival at Prado is a promotion and a transfer. Prior to the move, Chief Fronek spent the last seven years as a battalion chief for the department in the BishopOwens Valley area. He began his firefighting career in 1966 as a seasonal firefighter for CDF in Orange County. As he takes command at Prado, Chief Fronek said that he has no immediate plans for changes to the camp's operations. He does plan to continue to maintain the operation and reputation of the camp and the helicopter program.
