Speech Lets Door Open for Peace Main Trouble, Club Is Told, Is in Way Sudeten Area Is to Be Divided Referring to Adolph Hitler's speech to the world yesterday aft ernoon, Prof, Leroy Bugbee in an address at the opening dinner meeting of West Side Junior Wom Club last night at One-O-Nlne, observed Hitler apparently decided leave the door onen for a oeaceful settlement, at least for remainder of this week. Prof. Buebee said that while there is little that Hitler can with draw, there is still a possibility of peaceful settlement. Czechoslovakia originally was creaiea as a Duner state in central Europe by the Allies to control the continent and prevent Germany from expanding, Prof. Bugbee said, and this explains why France Is aligned to Czechoslovakia and why England would likely to support France in the event of Hitler's invasion.

The speaker explained the steps that to the present crisis, particularly original demands that Chamberlain understood Hitler to make at Berchteseaden and which- were sent to Czechoslovakia on Sunday. then compared it with the nnai demands made by Hitler at Godes-burg that Chamberlain could not agree to and Czechoslovakia and France no tn reieciea. Prof. Buebee explained that the seat of the trouble seems to be in how the division should he made, said that while Hitler wants Sudeten area ceded immediately, Chamberlain and France insist an international commission, other rlehta.
