Recipients of the Wilma Anker Memorial Scholarship include Lisa De Wyn, athletic; Mark Lagestee Other winners include Lisa De Wyn; Bruce De Wit Memorial Scholarship; Brett Dingman, Califonia Student Grant; Mark Lagestee and Lisa De Wynn, Kiwanis Club; Michael Tjaarda, Myron Kamper Memorial; David Albers, Mike Bekendam, and Lisa De Wyn and Mark Lagestee, Gemco honors. In addition winners include, Jeff Boersma, Loper System Agricultural Scholarship; Lisa De Wyn, Calvin College Honors; Lisa De Wyn, Bank of America; Lisa De Wyn, Joni Mays, Laura Johnson, and Julie Dykstra, Fine Arts Scholarships; and Jake Greidanus, John Philip Sousa award. Holding the Chino Valley Toastmaster Club celebration cake is Linda Finnegan (left) and Club President, Mike Finnegan (center). Local talker takes award Carol Averill, having sucessfully completed all requirements, has been awarded Toastmaster International's most prestigious award, Distinguished Toastmaster. Ms Averill was presented the accolade at the Chino Valley Toastmasters meeting recently. She is the first Toastmaster within the Chino Valley Club to ever acheive this the highest honor issued by Toastmaster International. Mrs Averill had several offices within Chino Valley Toastmasters, including club president.

She has been Area Governor (Area C-l) and District Lt Governor (Area C). During this time, Mrs Averill has completed four other levels of accomplishment required within Toastmasters International, requiring more than 30 speeches to Toastmaster and non-roastmaster groups. She has conducted Youth Leadership programs, Speechcrafts, training seminars, sponsored five new members within the last year, and sponsored a brand new Toastmaster Club.
