C. State Society of the Ammerican Assn. of Medical Assistants were installed at a dinner meeting held on Friday evening at the Brinwood Restaurant. Officers installed were Carolyn Waugh, president; Peggy Dobbins, vice president; Betty Hall, president elect; Emma Blevins, recording secretary; Linda Haithcock, corresponding secretary; and Elise Hunt, treasurer. The officers were installed by Mrs.

Ruth Patterson of Concord, state president of the medical assistants. She LATEST challenged each officer to be faithful in her new duties and to educate herself in every way- possible to meet the demands of the medical assistant. The members and their guests were welcomed by Mrs. Ms. Waugh.

Clyde Hall gave the invocation. Gail Ward, medical assistant, and Ron Freeman of Thomasville, guest musician, presented the Christmas story in scripture and song. Guests included Etta Leonard, Zel Roach and Bessie Smith. The organization meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second MARSHALL WALKER IH Mr.

11 at High Point Memorial Hospital. Thursday of each month at 606 Elm St. The meetings are open to those interested in medical assisting. Party Held At Sandy Ridge Club Members of Sandy Ridge Golf Club, and their guests met for a special Christmas party on Friday. The event took the form of a surprise party for the club manager, Richard Briley.

Friends of Mr. Briley participated in a "Richard's Roast" which was emceed by Tom Kemp. Roasters included Roger Boles, C. S. McGahey, J.

W. Hubbard, Raymond Blackwell, Tom Prangley, Mike Koch and, in absentia, Roy Harrison and John Meurs. Members of the audience also roasted Mr. Briley. Sam Hayes presented Mr.

Briley with a gift of appreciation for his work with the club. Wanda Joyner greeted the guests as they arrived with name tags and special favors. Following a social hour, dinner was served. The clubhouse was decorated using a Christmas motif. Jaycettes Hear Report On Junior Miss Pageant A report was given on the success of the Junior Miss Pageant at the meeting of the High Point Jaycettes held at the home of the president, Mrs.

Al Thorburn. Mrs. Thorburn reported on the midyear convention held in Winston-Salem, Nov. 23. She stated that the North Carolina Jaycettes adopted a state constitution and became an official organization under the leadership of Martha Fan, president.

The High Point Jaycettes will be members of this state organization. Mrs. Steve Googe read a Yuletide poem. Mrs. Kent Fender, Mrs.

Steve Simmons and Googe thanked members for the help and time donated by each in connection with the Junior Miss Pageant held on Dec. 7. Mrs. Larry Anderson organized plans for the Christmas dinner the Jaycettes will serve to the Neighborhood Center for the Aged at Clara Cox Camellia Club Has Christmas Tea High Point Camellia Club members and their guests attended the annual Christmas tea on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Dennis Young.

Associate hostesses were: Mrs. James Mattocks, Mrs. Leslie Flippo, Mrs. Lewis Thompson, Mrs. Charles Blackburn and Mrs.

A. M. Terry. They assisted in preparing refreshments and greeting guests. Mrs.

C. C. Haworth and Mrs. Robert Securest poured coffee and tea. focal point of interest was the on the dining room table consisting of pink camellias in a silver bowl on a mirrored tray which reflected the lighted candles in silver candelabra.

Another area was a chest of drawers with an assortment of crystal candlesticks holding lighted candles. Members were asked to bring, some favorite memento of past Christmases to add to the books and toys in the antique trunk. Of special interest was a golden ball Christmas ornament belonging to Mrs. Howard Pancoast, whose father used it when he was young. A patchwork wreath hung above the fireplace in the family room and greenery and berries were used to decorate various areas.

Mrs. Earl Schafer presented the Junior Garden Club members with decorative tree ornaments. She was assisted by Mrs. Anthony Jacobi in greeting the junior members and their mothers. Rowan Welborn, president, conducted the business meeting. Mrs. David Senkpiel reported on a needy family and the club voted to make a donation to this family during the holiday season and to continue their monetary assistance throughout the year if necessary. Mrs. Welborn expressed her appreciation to Mrs.
