The following pupils of the Lu zerne avenue building took part In the Christmas program: Ruth Morgen, Phyllis Clark, James Wills, Charles Bender, Anne Dershimer, Albert Botta, Jack Hayes, Walter St. Clair, Elaine Kindred, Altonsino Volpe, ry Kresge, Ed ward Zuzelo, Da id Weiskerger, Ted Barber, Ann Emigh, Catherine Campbell and Billy Price as well as students of the various grades who presented group numbers. Trinity Choir To Give Special Xmas Program Choir of Trinity Episcopal church, West Pittston, of which Brinley R.

Sayes is director, will present an appropriate program of music at the service on Christmas eve at 11 and on Sunday morning at 10:30. Miss Mabel Repp will be the organist. Rev. Eugene A. Helm, rector, has announced the programs for Saturday evening and Sunday morning services as follows: Saturday evening at 11 Choral Eucharist.

PRESENT PROGRAM Students of the senior high school presented a Christmas program in the auditorium before the entire student body yesterday morning. The high school orchestra rendered a select program of Christmas music and senior high school glee club sang. Catherine Waters, Josephine Marnell, R. Jenkins and. Albert Bernosky rendered solos and Daniel Mancine entertained with a violin selection and his brother, John, who was accompanist, played a popular number.

Married Men Hired As Extra Mailmen Postmaster George Miller and Assistant Postmaster James Gibbons have, taken care of approximately eighty unemployed residents' of the community in seeing that Christmas letters and 4 packages reached the right persona on time. For the last week shifts of extra letter carriers have been engaged delivering mail on various routes in the community and despite the fact that they were unfamiliar with the routing, names, they did excellently.

Of the eighty men who were. placed on the extra employment pay roll of the local postoffice, most all were married men who have been out of work. Others were single men who have dependents and were unemployed for long periods. WEDDING ANNIVARSARY Mr. and Mrs.

Sam Sgro of Butler street, quietly observed the twentyAfth anniversary of their wedding with a family dinner on Thursday night. They were married in St. Mary's Italian Catholic church, Old Forge, on December 22, 1907, by Rev. Father Cassibe: Mrs. Sgro before marriage was Miss Maria Vendre, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Joseph Vendre, of Old Forge. Mr. Sgro has resided here for thirty-five years. For many years he was employed by the Glennon Brewery and later served 88.

member of the city police force. He is secretary-treasurer of Pittston Local, No. 841, United Brewery Workers of America. Three children were born of their union, all living. are Mrs.

Extreme caution is urged in trimming Christmas trees by Fire Chief Sheidon Jones. It is easy to cause a fire especially when the lights are exposed to material that catches fire easily in the event that a short circuit occurs. GIRL SCOUT CONTEST contest will be conducted for all Girl Scouts who submit action pictures of scout all activities. Girl Scouts.

This is open to Any number of pictures may be submitted by any one scout. The pictures are to be sent to scout headquarters, Anthracite building, Wilkes-Barre. This competition will start January 1 and end September 1. The scouts taking the best pictures will be given a course in photography at by the close prominent photographer of the contest. MANY SEE CHRISTMAS PROGRAM More than 250 pupils, parents and teachers witnessed the Christmas program presented on Wednesday afternoon by the township schools in the high school audito rium. The pupils taking part manner. acquitted themselves in a splendid Loud applause greeted the appearance of the jolly Santa Claus.
