Seeing Japan We did the usual thinga in sightseeing. In Japan, Rex went with a friend to visit Nikko and Tokyo for a few days and then I had my turn and went to Kyoto. We all visited Osaka, but apent the greater part of our time at Gotemba with friends who were there for their summer holiday. It is at the foot of Mt. Fuji.

We had some delightful day trips from there. liked Japan except that we happened to be there at a very hot time of the year. The people seem to be very industrious, and both men and women work. The children proved very food travelers. They were very much at horn on the boat and enjoyed the visits ashore as much aa any of us. The thing that always bothered Charles was that the boat might go and leave as while were off.

The swimming pool on the boat gava them great pleasure and there were other children to play with. No matter what kind conveyance was to be had on shore, anything with a horse or pony attached to it gave them the greatest thrill. They had rkhshaws of vsrious types, sedan chairs In Hongkong, and pony wagona in Manilla. The kiddies went swimming at At Waikikl Beach Waikikl Beach, alto at Reverse Bay in Hongkong. The harbor was quite the prettiest saw.

The city is built on tho side of a hill, and the view of the city and harbor from the top of the hill is wonderful. Also, at night the city lighted up was a beautiful sight. The Inland Sea waa a wonderful sight also. On the trip there are soma things which stand out as the moat beautiful; mountain scenery in Japan, also the lakes.
