The location is 4 1 Belleview drive in San Leandro. There are two and three-room units equipped with genuine Frigidaire, Marshall Stearns beds, steam heat and hot water.

In East of the Lake District S. Bercovich has just completed the 610 East Nineteenth apartments at that address. Inspection is invited today. Hazen, developer of Belleview Gardens, just off East Fourteenth street, in San Leandro, announces the completion of the Bellevlew apartments at 41 Belle-view drive. According to Hazen, the total investment represented is approximately $100,000, the building comprising 60 rooms in two and three-ioom suites. A description reads: "Light and Sujishlne are an outstanding feature of the Belleview apartments, in, a setting of cherry and apricot trees. The exterior of the structure is in light tan stucco Vith windows trimmed in green and brown. Tile front and colored awnings are pleasing in their decorative effects.

There is an excellent view from nearly every, apartment. "The floor arrangement is unusual, In that there is one centrally located hallway in each unit, giving absolute privacy to every room. Bath rooms with outside windows are also a feature. The dinettes are especially attractive, having wide bay windows and are decorated with imported colored wall coverings. Plant Being Erected Rapid progress is being made on the new steel and concrete building being constructed at the foot of Fourteenth street for Libby, McNeil and Libby.

The structural steel for the building was fabricated and erected by the Pacific Coast Engineering company of Oakland. Expressing solidity and stability in its decorative treatment, the new apartment building Just completed by J. 8. Bercovich at 610 East Nineteenth street, invites public inspection. From street level to root line, its exterior appearance is one of striking contrasts, a deep red concrete base of block effect some ten.

feet high, with three upper stories of textured plaster in antique green and buff, and window casings and frames, in dark red and-yellow. A description reads: "First Impressions are created by appearance, and the 6t0 East Nineteenth apartment not only create an excellent impression, but live up to it in comfort-providing features. There are 24 units, furnished and unfurnished, occupying three upper floors, with a lower floor' of fireproof construction housing garages, steam heating plant, etc. The building fs entered from a vestibule of Italian design with columns'and arches, barrelled cell--ing, rope panels, crystal pendant fixtures, all richly ornamented. All apartments are commodious, with living rooms averaging 14 by 21 feet.

The dressing closets, can be compared to small rooms in size. The entrance hallway have both guest closets and linen closets. Bathrooms, off the entrance halls, are tiled and enamelled, and equipped with pedestal porcelain basins, showers, etc. Large bedrooms and closets are also the rule. "Interior decoration is of a high order; there are tapestry panelled walls In the living rooms, with cream and brown enamel mouldings on a textured paper base.

French doore open Into the dinettes, which are- brightly papered and decorated. Dinettes, in turn, are separated from the kitchens by glassed buttresses. Kitchens are finished in cream enamel with a contrasting green color stripe. Tile work Is in keeping. These kitchens have unusual cabinet space, genuine Frigidaire Installations, electric ranges, etc.

"A feature of the building Is the wiring system, a 100 per cent Red Seal installation. Even the garage doors are automatically closed by an electric push button control. The living rooms and bedrooms are artistically paneled, with the woodwork in antique ivory. "The building is carpeted throughout and thoroughly soundproof. Marshall Stearns beds are used in all apartments. In the furnished units the furniture includes Spanish and mohair chesterfields, Cogswell chairs, occasional chairs, library tables, desks, lamp, stands, smokers, walnut bedroom sets and breakfast-room seta in mahogany.

"Garages, laundry and a steam and hot water system, fired by a Ray burner are among the facilities. The location is convenient to stores and has excellent transportation. Apartmentri are available both furnished' and unfurnished." Retail Trade Here Is Excellent The condition of Oakland's re-tall trade has been so excellent during the past two months that the numerous reports of this phase of Oakland's business Ufa are fully Justified. Final reports for July sale this year show that the value of merchandise sold In Oakland was 11.9 per cent greater than the value for July of last year. The only city to approach Oakland's record was Los Angeles where a gain of 9 per cent was recorded.

However, Is nly one-half as much as Oakland's gain. Portland was next with an Increase of 7.4 per cent. San Francisco made a good showing with an Increase of 1.8 per cent. A year ago Seattle and Salt Lake City were among the leaders on the Pacific coast. However, the July record shows Seattle with 4.1 per cent gain and Salt Lake City with a loss of 6.1 per cent, Seven western states had' an average gain of 6.

per cent. When Oakland's increase of 17.9 per cent Is compared with this average gain one finds that the local record Is almost three times greater than the average. Tha stock turnover of merchandise during July was .27 times In Oakland, and this record is only exceeded by Seattle where the took turnover was .29 times. The average for the western atates was .11 times. Last year, the Oakland figure was .19, and "this wss exceeded not only by the average of the western states, but by Salt Lake I i It T.J?.

The fact tVat Oakland Is a logical fruit packing center and shipping point la again substantiated by the erection of a vast dried fruit plant by Libby McNeil and Libby. This eteel and concrete building, now under construction at the foot of Fourteenth street, covers five and a half acres of ground and will have loading platforms and trackage on three aides. The structural steel for this building was. fabricated and erected by the Pacific Coast Engineering company of Oakland. The plant, it Is stated, will be equipped with modern box making machinery and with the latest types of graders and processors, with a capacity of handling 200 tons of dried fruit a day.

The major portion of fruits to be handled will be prunes peaches and apricots, which will be drawn from the north coast counties and from the San Joaduin and Sacramento valleys. Between 600 and 600 persons will be employed during the packing seasons. Canned fruits will be shipped from this plant, as a portion of it will be used for warehousing these goods, especially pineapple, which la packed in the Hawaiian Islands.
