So, WLW announced yesterday that Miss Lyons would not resume questioning the audience on "Morning Matinee" when she returned after two more weeks of vacation.

Miss Lyons will continue as the star of the daily "50 Club" which will be fed to the NBC television network starting October 1. Now in its fifth year on the air, "50 Club" is simulcast locally on both WLW radio and television stations. The doctors told Miss Lyons she would bo emceeing radio broadcasts for many more years if she just would lighten her work load now. Judy Perkins and Ernie Lee, coemcees of the "Morning Matinee" broadcasts during Miss Lyons' vacation, will continue on the program, simulcast six days a week at 8:30 a. m.

A native Cincinnatian, Miss Lyons joined WLW and WSAI, en sister stations, in 1942 to appear on "Petticoat Partyline." Her "Morning Matinees" opened shortly thereafter and "50 Club" was first broadcast in 1946. Miss Lyons is the only Cincinnati radio personality belonging to the "20 Years Club," an organization of radio veterans. She first broke ito radio as a pianist at WKRC and was at one time program director at the station. She was acting program director of WLW-T for several months last year.
