SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS RANK HIGH IN TEXAS LEAGUE STANDINGS Eagles Get Their Revenge On Tulsa For Monday Game Alamo City Team Not Far Behind Dallas Pacesetters By The Associated Press The Texas league's concern over the high-flying Dallas Eagles has left a lot of clubs unconcerned about the San Antonio Missions. A bad error. The Missions were rained out last night, but get two chances at the Beaumont Exporters tonight. They're only two games ba of pace-setting Dallas and have been winning regularly without fanfare.

Dallas held its two-game lead over San Antonio by slugging the Tulsa Oilers, 12-5. last night. It was some measure of revenge against the club that Monday spoiled a perfect record. Shreveport grabbed third place In the standings by downing Houston, 4-2, and Fort Worth won a 4-3. ten-inning victory from Oklahomr City.

The same opponents meet again tonight. Buck Frierson's two home runs paced a 15 hit Dallas attack against three Tulsa pitchers. Tommy Finger and Otho Nltcho- las held Tulsa to six hits. Relief pitcher Vic Johnson's wildness gave Fort Worth Its slim victory. He walked three men and then served Al Leap a pitch that was turned into a game winning Bingle.

Borger Gains Top Spot In League With 13-7 Victory By The Associated Fress Borger sat atop the West Texas- New Mexico league standings today, but It was not a very comfortable perch. Amarillo and Albuquerque are just a half-game back of the Gaa- sers and Pampa and Lamesa trail by only a single game. The rest of the league is close enough to figure better days are ahead. Borger last night jumped on Lamesa, 13-7, wrlle Albuquerque had an easy time thumping Pampa, 170, and Clovis stomped Lubboek, 111. Amarillo went ten innings before downing Abilene, 5-4.

A double by pitcher Luke Hamilton won for Amarillo. Southpaw Harrison Thomas held Lubboek to five hits and another pitcher Tom the hero of Albuquerque's victory. The scheduled Corslcana-Waco baseball game could not be played here Tuesday because of wet grounds, and that made three district games that the Tigers have postponed. To make It worse, the Bengals have not had a game since April days ago, and Coach Boyd Payne is getting anxious for a tilt to keep his league-leading club In playing trim.

He was slated to take the Tigers to Dallas this afternoon for the game Ith the Jesuit Bangers, one of tbe hottest things in Texas high school baseball this year. Over at Fort Worth Tuesday there was a report, or rather a rumor, that Dallas was paying the Eagles more than the legal salary limit, and that there would be an Investigation.
