THE ENQUIRER, CINCINNATI, SUNDAY, MARCH 29, 1936 'NEWS SECTION 35 TECHNICAL CHIEF NAMED Succeed Chambers At WLWR. J. Rockwell New Man. Ronald James Rockwell, 1743 Laurelwood Circle, has been appointed technical supervisor of WLW and WSAI, succeeding Joseph A. Chambers, Lewis M.

Crosley, Vice President and General Manager of the Crosley Radio Corporation, announced last night. Chambers has resigned to enter the radio J. A. Chambers. consulting business in Washington.

For the second time Rockwell succeeds Chambers as technical supervisor of radio stations. In July, 1927, when Chambers resigned a similar post with Station WGY, Schenectady, N. to accept the WLW position, Rockwell, then with the General Electric Company, was appointed to the job. Although still in his early thirties, Chambers is a veteran radio engineer. As technical supervisor for the General Electric Company, operators of WGY, Chambers designed some of the country's most powerful broadcasting stations.

He is credited with having begun development of the condenser type microphone, now in general use throughout the country. Chambers designed the watt transmitter of WLW and incorporated new methods in the construction in the new WSAI transmitter. Although Rockwell has assumed charge of the technical department, Chambers will remain at WLW for several days. Mrs. Chambers said her husband soon would open his own office i in Washington.

Who Will Louis Box If He Beats German And Then Champ? Max Schmeling and Jim Braddock are ahead, and then what for Joe Louis? Assuming that the majority of the forecasters are correct, and Joe hops over two more prostrate heavyweights, a hunt will be on for a challenger. Who? Well, maybe it will be John Henry Lewis, the present lightheavyweight champion. John Henry is six feet tall. He has a big frame and it likely will take on some poundage. Plenty of other lightheavies have gone into the heavyweight division.

Three of them, Bob Fitzsimmons, Tommy Burns, and Gene Tunney, came through. Others, including Carpentier and Loughran, failed. Jack Dillon a didn't try very hard or he might have made it, too. So if John Henry Lewis should face Joe Louis for the heavyweight championship of the world, what would we have? Likely the fastest heavyweight fight ever staged. John Henry certainly can't punch like Joe -not even when his opponent is an overgrown middleweight.

But John Henry can box and he has speed to burn. Some are figuring that Braddock will beat Joe because he is a great boxer. By the same line of reason we might nominate John Henry as, at least, a worthy opponent. MILFORD. The Milford Board of Education yesterday announced that a contract had been signed by W.

Milligan's term expires June 1, when he will have served as Superintendent nine years, Burkholder formerly was principal of the Batavia school. At present he is Superintendent of the Russellvania centralized schools in Logan County, Ohio.

Thhe Milford Knights of Pythias will join the Hamilton County Past Chancellors Association in A trip to Williamsburg next Wednesday evening. More than 200 knights are expected to attend the meeting.
