Miss Judy Bell has returned to Lawrence College, Appleton, after a holiday recess with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bell, 305 Jefferson Ave. Miss Bell accompanied her parents to Chica go Saturday to attend the opera "Don Carlo." Miss Margaret Cunningham, 20 N. Wisconsin has returned from St.

Paul where she spent two months with her cousin, Dr. Helen Hart, University of Min nesota professor. F'ete Sam Gilberto's Fiancee at Shower Miss Jeanette Grover, Waupun, who will be married to Sam Gil berto in St. Patrick's Church Jan. 18, was honored at a'shower Tuesday evening in Labor Temple.

Hostesses were Mmes. Sam Moccero, Charles Costello, Curt Bouton, C. J. Gilberto and Wayne Mitchell. Forty-four guests played bunco, prizes going to Mmes.

Evelyn Albert Asmus Are Married studio MRS. ALBERT A. ASMUS At a candlelight ceremony in First Congregational Church Saturday evening Evelyn Carol Jones and Albert Arthur Asmus repeated marriage vows after the Rev. Herbert C. Kimmel.

Gladioli and pompons made the background for the 6 o'clock rites. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Jones, 161 S. Fremont chose a gown of bridal blue embroidered crystalette.

Styled with portrait neckline and ledge sleeves, the elongated waistline accented a bouffant ballerina skirt with butterfly bow in the back. Her circular veil of silk il- lusian was held by a swiss hair- braid crown entwined with pearls, A white orchid rested on the bride's white Bible. Mrs. Winston Weber, as her sister's matron of honor, appeared in a cotillion blue velveteen dress designed with scoop neckline and brief sleeves. A crushed taffeta cummerbund accented the bustle back skirt.

Mrs. Weber completed her attire with an open crown plateau hat of velveteen petals centered with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink roses. Galen Smith, the bridegroom's brother-in-law, was best man; Thomas Jones, the bride's brother, and Edwin Kernen, the bridegroom's nephew, ushers. Following a reception for 150 at the Vets Club the couple departed for northern Wisconsin.

They will live at 210 Clark St. Mrs. Asmus is employed at George W. Borg Delavan, and her husband at Janesvilie Sand and Gravel Co. Mr.

Dial PL 2-74Sf Yule Dance at YWCA Saturday The Young Adult Club of vilie will hold a Christmas dance at the YWCA Saturday evening, open to all young people in this area over 18 years of age. The dance will start at 8 o'clock. Entertainment has been planned, and refreshments will be served. There will be a small admission fee. The activities of the Young Adult Club, including this dance, are open to anyone over 18, either with date or without.

There will also be an informal get-together Sunday evening Dec. 15, beginning at 7:30. Young adults, whether they have attended meetings previously or not, are invited to stop in. Sorority Dance Saturday Night "Candy Cane Frolic" is the theme for the Christmas dinner dance which Xi Lambda Exemplar and Theta Chapters of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will sponsor at Morse Hills Club, Beloit, Saturday evening. The Footwarmers, Williams Bay, will play from 9 to 11.

Mrs. Thomas Norton is dance chairman. Guest tickets may be obtained from sorority members. Senator Carr Speaker for County PTA Iva Thompson Is Bride in First Lutheran Church Steven Daniel, son of Mr. and Mrs.

David Albert, 519 N. Garfield was born in Mercy Hospital Saturday. Mr. Albert is social studies teacher in Junior High School. Mrs.

Albert is a former Roosevelt School teacher. Two months old Michele Ann became the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence G. Medicus, Detroit, Nov.

26. Mr. Medicus, son of Mrs. Helen Medicus, 809 Pleasant is a Chevrolet engineer at the Willow Run plant. Susan Kathryn, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Robert S. Blumreich, 1517 Carrington was baptized Sunday in St. John Vianney Church by the Rev. John Walsh.

Mrs. Kenneth J. Lohry and Michael Steed were sponsors. Susan has three brothers, Robin, 10; John, 7, and Richard, 5. Grandparents are Mr.

Sophia White SENATOR CARR "Educational Legislation" will be the topic Senator Peter Carr will discuss at the meeting of the Rock County PTA Council at p.m. Wednesday in the Rock County courthouse. The business session will con sist of electing officers with Mrs Corydon Wright, Beloit, Rock County chairman of Fifth Dis trict PTA presiding. PTA's of Rock County public schools are welcome. This will be an opportunity to hear of edu cational bills and how the legisia ture operates.

A question and an swer period Will be conducted on PTA policies and procedures. Mrs. William Vierck, Beloit president of the Fifth District PTA, which consists of Rock Green, Lafayette, Iowa, Grant Crawford and Richland counties will be a consultant. Mrs. Henry Gould, state district service chairman of the Wisconsin Congress of Parents and Teachers, will also be present to act as a resource person.

and Mrs. Travis C. Thompson, Gallatin, wore a waltz-length gown of chantilly lace over satin designed with fitted bodice and and mandarin collar. A tiara of pearlized flowers held her fingertip veil. A white orchid centered the bride's bouquet of red roses.

Mr. Thompson came from Tennessee to give his daughter in marriage. Miss Jean Thompson, as her sister's only attendant, wore a turquoise and net dress, styled waltz length. She carried a bouquet; of yellow fuji chrysanthemums. Emil A.

Sathre was best man for his brother. They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Ragnar Sathre, 703 St. Mary's Ave.

Ushers were Richard W. Milbrandt, Jack E. Kislia, Carl W. Luedtke and Gerald Wahl. Mrs.

Arlin Ad ams in St. John's Lutheran Church. The bride wore a cork color knit dress styled with scoop neckline and brown accessoreis including a wide trimmed taffeta hat. Her corsage was brown orchids. Mr.

and Mrs. Walter Schilling attended the couple, Mrs. Schilling's charcoal dress was accented with white accessories and a gold orchid corsage. Luncheon was served at the Wagon Wheel, Rockton, before tha couple departed for northern Wisconsin. Mr.

and Mrs. Olsen will reside at 117 Racine St. The bride is employed at Rock County National Bank. Her husband, son of Mr. and Mrs.

The Barkers' youngest son, Raymond, lost his life in World War II at the Battle of Tarawa. Supper was served to the relatives. A large cake in the form of an open book centered the table at which refreshments were served. Lester Anderson was master of ceremonies for the evening program which opened with an original greeting which he and his family sang. 4, 1957 Catholic Women Set Up Rural Life Division A rural life unit of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women was organized Tuesday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Webb McNall, Rte. 5. Mrs. McNall is rural life chairman of Rock Deanery.

The Rev. Wilfred J. Schuster, Brodhead, diocesan rural life director as well as state regional director, met with the group and explained the objectives of the Catholic Rural Life Movement. Purpose of the movement is the religious, social and economic betterment of people who live in rural areas by means of spiritual and material benefits through a united movement with National Catholic Rural Life Conference. Some of the projects considered were promotion of Rogation Days; devotion to St.

Isadore, patron of farmers; devotion to Our Lady of the Fields; stewardship of the farm safety, beautification of farm home and setting up rural shrines. Attending the meeting were: Mrs. Robert Olson, St. Augustine's parish, Footville; Mrs. Percy Carey and Mrs.

Robert Burns, both of St. Joseph's, Edgerton; Mrs. John George, St. Jude's, Beloit; Mrs, Frank J. Bender, St.

Paul's, Evansville; Mrs. Arnold Schmitt, St. William's, Janesvilie; Mrs. Joseph Drew and Mrs. Robert Campion, both of St.

Mary, Milton; Mrs. George Schmidley, St. Patrick's, Janesvilie; and Mrs. Thomas W. Murphy, vilie, Rock Deanery president.

Newcomers to Attend Decorations Session Newcomers Club will meet at the Janesvilie Floral 54 S. Main at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. and Mrs.

Richard Leyes and their staff, Magda Kawet- schanky and Margaret Klingbeil, will make Christmas corsages and centerpieces. The group will then adjourn to the YW for a business meeting and refreshments. All women new to the community are invited to this meeting. Fine Flavor Bacon that is broiled has fine flavor. Janesvilie Country Club will be the setting for several holiday events in addition to the parties being planned for the membership. The club has been rented for a brunch next Tuesday morning, That evening Elliott's Ladies Shop will hold its annual Christmas dinner party. On Wednesday evening the Munn-Koch Clinic dinner party will be held. Hagen's House of Fashion is having a dinner at the club Thursday Dec. 12, and on Friday, Dec.

13, Pember-Nuzum Clinic Personnel will be entertained at dinner. The club will be taken over Saturday evening, Dec. 14, for a private dance. And on Sunday, Dec. 15, four couples will entertain at a Holiday Cheer gathering.

Merchants and Savings Bank has scheduled a dinner party for Tuesday evening, Dec, 17. Oilman Engineering and Mfg. Co. will entertain employes at a dinner on the evening of day, Dec. 18.

On Thursday evening, Dec. 19, a private dinner will be held at the club. Membership events for the holiday season include the regular Christmas luncheon-bridge Friday, Dec. 20; formal dance Saturday, Dec. 21, at which college students will be guests; children's party Sunday afternoon, Dec, 22; teenage dance Friday, Dec.

27, and regular New Year's Eve supper dance Tuesday, Dec. 31. Gingersnap Frosting A perfect accompaniment for applesauce or baked apples is the crisp ginger cooky.
