Hodapp Funeral Home, Carthage, serving the family. 4 By Rebecca Goodman HYDE PARK -Dr. M.Susan Moyer, medical director of the Schubert-Martin Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, died May 14 at her Hyde Park home.

She was 55. She suffered from Marfan syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder, as did her mother and sister. In her career, Dr. Moyer focused on inflammatory bowel disease and complex nutrition problems related to gastrointestinal disease in children. Many of her presentations and articles focused on Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

"Our profession has lost a star," said Dr. Mitchell Cohen, director of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. "She was held in high regard by colleagues and patients alike -both here in Cincinnati and throughout the nation. "Dr. Moyer was a talented and compassionate physician.

She was an effective advocate for all children and a tireless champion for those children with inflammatory bowel disease. She was gifted and strong. Yet her warm and welcoming style made it easy for patients and families to talk with her and for colleagues to learn from her." SENIOR LA iJ Lloyd E. beloved hus- hanrl fnr I0REJI years to Shir and the M. Susan Moyer Annual Lectureship on Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Dr. Moyer was born in Danville, on Feb. 6, 1953. She received a medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Rainbow Babies Children's Hospital in Cleveland. She came to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for a pediatrics fellowship and joined the faculty.

In 1988, Dr. Moyer went to Yale University where she rose to chief of the gastroenterology section and received an honorary master's of arts degree. She was appointed medical director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in 2003. Services have been held. Inurnment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Orangeville, Pa.

We think about you and miss you everyday. However, there has been a ray of sunshine because we know you are home with Mom Dad, and others who love you. We know that you are holding court in heaven and making them double over with laughter. We miss so many things about you: your intelligence, ability to read people, seeing the big picture, sense of humor; and that uncanny wit of yours I You taught us so much and we are ever so grateful to have had you in our lives. The hurling will go away but our love for you will be forever.
