The Master Mason degree will be conferred upon a large class by Newport Lodge of Masons at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Newport Masonic Temple, Howard R. Peper, Worshipful Master, announced yesterday. and Mrs. Fred Scroggins of Dry Ridge are the parents of a daughter, born Saturday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. The young arrival is their third child. Four Men Nabbed; Auto Radio Leads To Theft Suspicion Four men were arrested yesterday on charges of breach of peace after they were apprehended at Fifth and Isabella Newport, where they were attempting to sell a radio to a used automobile parts dealer who summoned police, Newport police reported. Arrested were Elvin Logan, 32, Staunton, Fredrick Smith, 38, Dayton, Ohio; Daniel Gibson, 37, Dixie Hotel, Cincinnati, and Edward Mason, 39, Mt.

Vernon, Ky. Newport Detectives Leroy Fredricks, Willard Malden, William Livingston and Raymond Hawthorne arrested the men as they were attempting to sell a radio for one make of car when they were driving another model. Newport police were checking with Hamilton County authorities to see if they had a stolen report on the automobile. Two crime comic books were found on one of the men arrested, police said. They were lodged in Newport Jail, placed under $200 bon.

They will be arraigned at 9:30 a. m. today in Newport Police Court before Judge Alfred Maybury. Woman Is Burned, And So Is Rescuer A Covington woman suffered first-degree burns yesterday when a pan of grease she was heating at her home caught fire. A Cov-1 lington Fire Captain was burned when he attempted to extinguish the blaze.

Treated at St. Elizabeth Hospital were Mrs. Sarah Hoskins, 1025 Banklick and Capt. Edward Radenheimer. Mrs.

Hoskins was burned on her left foot and ankle. while the fireman suffered burns on his right arm and hand. Captain Radenheimer said there was no damage to the house. NEWCATH PICNIC SUNDAY. NewCath Boosters Club, comprised of graduates of Newport Catholic High School, will sponsor a basket picnic Sunday at Doyle's Country Club, near Dayton.

John Kinsella, Chairman, announced that a baseball game, dancing and athletic events will be included in the festivities. Engel Expires; Former Covington Banker George E. Engel, formerly prominent Covington banker, died yesterday at his home in Montgomery, at the age of 88. was a member of the Kentucky Bankers Association and was President of that association in 1924-27. Mr. Engel was President of the old Liberty National Bank, once known as the German National Bank.

When Richard P. Ernst and L. B. Wilson bought the Liberty Bank in 1924 they merged it with Peoples, Savings to form the Bank Trust Co. Mr.

Engel then became Vice President of the new bank and served in that capacity for a number of years. Mr. Engel was with the PeoplesLiberty Bank until his retirement in 1945. He was one of the founders of Immanuel Methodist Church, Lakeside Park. He formerly was a member of the Planning Committee of the Covington Protestant Children's Home and former trustee of the home.

William S. Oster, retired salesman for the Schaufele Hardware Bellevue, died yesterday at his residence, 603 Benham Dayton. Mr. Oster, who was 81 years old, was a member of the Dayton Eagles and Beacon Light Council, Order United American Mechanics, Cincinnati. Surviving him are son, William Oster, Dayton; a brother, Harry Oster, Cincinnati, and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a. m. tomorrow at the Vonderhaar Stetter funeral home, Newport. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.

Moeller, 235 W. Ninth Covington, died yesterday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Covington. Mr. Moeller, who was years old, had been a layout man for Newman Brothers, Cincinnati, for the last 15 years.

He was a member of the Covington Mrs. Mary F. Doan; eight daughters, Mrs. Bertha Denney, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Maude Schneider, Ohio; Lillian Davis, Bellefontaine, Ohio; Mrs.

Mrs. Scott, who was 77 years old, died Tuesday at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Church, Newport. HENRY DOAN.

Services for Henry Doan, retired iron construction worker who Tuesday at his home on MeMillan Drive, Independence, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow at Independence Baptist Church. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Friends may call at the Swindler funeral home, Independence, from 3 to 10 p.

m. today. Mr. Doan, who was 85 years old, was a native of Pendleton County. He was a member of Council 16, Junior Order United American Mechanics, Covington.

Surviving him are his widow, JAMES GRAVEN. Services for James Graven, LaMoura, N. former resident of Covington, who died Tuesday at the Army Base Hospital, Ft. Riley, will be held at 11 a. m.

tomorrow at the Allison and Rose funeral home, Covington. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Mr. Graven, who was 37 years old, moved to North Dakota about four years ago. He was a member of the Army Reserve and was on an anannual two-week training period.
