She was a retired Elementary School Teacher for the Cincinnati Public Schools and the Covington Public Schools, a former Principal of the Oyler School, a former teacher at Villa Madonna Evening College (now, Thomas More College) and a greeter for the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington. Age 86, of Hamilton died Thursday, September 23, 2010 in Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.

He was born in Paducah, Kentucky on September 3, 1924 the son of the late James A. and Florence (Schooley) Jones. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1942. He served in WWII for three years in the U.S. Army as a Forward Observer with the 804th Field Artillery Battalion in the South Pacific.

He graduated with a BA degree with honors from Sigma Lambda Chi Management from Salmon P. Chase College and received his Masters Degree from Xavier University in marketing. He was chairman of the Butler County Cancer Crusade, was a past member and 32nd degree member of the Washington Lodge 17 AM, a member and past president of the Middletown Greek Orthodox Church. He worked on church festivals for many years and was a member of the Ahepa organization for 50 years. He was named a Kentucky Colonel.

He retired from Mosler Safe Company as General Manager of the Systems Division. Upon retirement he owned and operated a Skyline Chili in downtown Cincinnati. Albert traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and the Far East. He loved playing golf with family and friends. He married Carolyn Georgeton in 1949 in Cincinnati and had children, Floren Dia Haniotakis and husband, Costa of Athens, Greece, James A.

Jones and wife, Cookie and Chris A. Jones and wife, Tina all of Cincinnati. He loved his ten grandchildren, Yanni and Alexis Haniotakis, Lauren, Allison, Anthony, Alexandra and Albert James Jones and Joshua, Israel and Tori Jones. He is also survived by his siblings, Athena Christakos, Demus Jones and wife, Betty, Bess Chaldekas and husband, Bill, Venus Kostopoulos and husband, Nick and Pete Jones; many nieces, nephews, God Children and several brothers and sisters in law. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 at 12 noon preceded by visitation from 11a.m..

Bev had a courageous nine week battle with cancer. She was born on September 14, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Paul and Winona Staples. Bev was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Richard Kendall, in 2003, as well as her two sisters, Carol McFall and Nancy Kathrens.

Bev attended Butler University and was active throughout her life as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was also involved with St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, the Humane Society, and other voluntary causes. Survivors include her three sons, John Kevin (Lori) Kendall, Jeffrey Alan (Carol) Kendall, and Bradley Staples (Becky) Kendall. Grandchildren include Alison Marie and John Eric Kendall, Mark Alan and Claire Jean Kendall, and Christopher Staples and Katherine Jane Kendall.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as friends in the Cincinnati, Keowee Key, SC, and Indianapolis, IN vicinities.
