She was 91 and had been under hospice care for over a year. She was the wife of the late Carl W. DeWert, who preceded her in death in 1993, and the mother of a deceased son, Richard, who passed in 2004. She is survived by her son, Ronald. She led a simple life as a housewife and saleslady and retired in 1972.

She was the oldest of five siblings and outlived them all by more than thirty years. She did not go Gently in the Night. She was a brassy Irish lass who was just ornery enough to want to live forever, and now she will. So look out Lord, "Hell on Wheels" is on her way. She was my mother and I love her and will miss her forever.

Linda Jean Kotzbauer was born on September 12th, 1968 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from North College Hill High School in 1986 and was a member of the National Honor Society, drama club, and drill team.

She moved to Chicago in 1993 and worked for various businesses the city's financial district. She studied acting at Sarantos Studios in 1995. There, on stage, she met her future husband. They married on April 7th, 2000. In 2001, she embarked on a new career as an educator, graduating with high honors from Oakton Community College, then received her teaching certificate from Montessori Schools International.

She became a head teacher at Chiaravalle Montessori School in Evanston, Illinois. Lynda loved her young students and especially enjoyed working with their parents. She loved acting and movies, planting flowers, dog walks with Graham and Lilly and modeling clothes for her husband. Lynda's honesty, gentle humor, and beauty were a delight to all who knew her and now grieve deeply for her untimely loss. Lynda would have wanted memorials to go to the Susan G.
