ENQUIRER LOCAL NEWS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 8 B5 LIVES REMEMBERED Glen Cobb loved horses Rode 1,800 miles a year By Cindy Kranz BATAVIA Glen R. Cobb loved horses and would log 1,800 miles while trail riding annually. The longtime Batavia resident was involved with the Clermont County Mounted Patrol and the Ohio Horseman's Council, which tracked trail mileage. Mr. Cobb "He was in the top 10 riders in state of Ohio for a number of years," said his wife, Jewell Cobb.

His favorite horse was Lady, a black Tennessee Walking Horse. "She had a set of twins, Bonnie and Clyde," Jewell Cobb said. "We would ride them together. He rode Clyde, and I rode Bonnie." Mr. Cobb died Sunday at age 74.

He worked as an assembler of electric motors for Siemens, a manufacturing company in Norwood, for 30 years. A 32nd-degree Mason, he was a member of Melrose Lodge No. 671 Scottish Rite for the Valley of Cincinnati and Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati. He enjoyed being involved with those organizations for more than 40 years because of the good things they did for children, such as Shriners Hospital, his wife said. Mr.

Cobb and his wife met when they attended Rockholds High School, where his father was principal, in Rockholds, Ky. "It was just love at first sight," said Jewell Cobb, his wife of 55 years. After they married, they moved to the Cincinnati area. She attended Miami University and became a teacher. He went to work for Siemens, which was Allis-Chalmers at that time.

The couple moved to Batavia in 1958. "He was very outgoing. He loved to be around people," Jewell Cobb said. "He enjoyed camping." Fortunately, she did, too. "We took a lot of camping trips.

We would take our horses and go to different state parks where they had riding trails, and we would go riding," she said, fondly recalling trips to Indiana, Tennessee and other parts of Ohio. Mr. Cobb is also survived by a daughter, Sandra Snell of Batavia; a brother, Ewell Cobb of Richmond, two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Danny Ray Cobb, died in 1983. Services will be 11 a.m.

today at Victory Baptist Church, 4577 Ohio 276, Batavia. Interment will be in Batavia Union Cemetery. As my mother you remained in my life until yours came to an end. If love was enough to save you, you never would have died. Unconditional love is a thing that is never ever forgotten. It's so hard to accept in my mind that you are no longer here. Every day I waited and prayed.

Wishing God would have left you here; For one more day. So when life begins to get tough, the memories of your face will pick me up. Love forever always Africa DaMontez 20 funeral homes Thomas-Justin Funeral Homes Madisonville Kenwood.
