In life Chris devoted over thirty-five years to caring for the sick as a respiratory therapist first at Good Sam, then Children's Hospital, then Anderson Mercy and finally Jewish Hospital. In death she will continue her devotion to care having donated her body to the U.C. Medical School for research. This past February Chris was diagnosed with latestage pancreatic cancer and the courage, grace and dignity with which she bore that cross was truly inspirational.

Never did she complain or express any negative sentiment whatsoever. Chris agreed to undergo therapy only with the understanding that her experience would advance the cause of medicine and, thereby, be of benefit to others. Such was this wonderful woman. A memorial Mass celebrating Chris's life will be held Saturday August 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Immaculata Church 30 Guido St. in Adams.
