Davon Mullins, 16, was shot and killed Saturday by police after the teen fought with police over a gun he tried to hide. These kinds of situations can easily result in the death of a police officer," Deters said. "It is pure luck that someone wasn't hurt, the good guys," Deters said of the weekend shootings and He-bert's death. Kathy Harrell, head of the union representing Cincinnati police, believed all along Hebert's shooting was justified. She sees a disturbing movement of police dealing with people carrying weapons and not obeying police orders.

"It has been a very violent year for (local) law enforcement," she said "Hopefully, we will see that trend change." Ohio-Indiana obituaries SCHNEIDER Dorothy K. rebold.com. From Page Bl "It is my conclusion that the police officers committed no crime and further were justified in the actions they took," Deters said. A Cincinnati police spokeswoman said the officers involved "are all back to work." An autopsy revealed Hebert had in his system at the time of his death marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms and registered a blood-alcohol content of .33, more than four times Ohio's legal limit for driving of .08. Carmack responded that was "irrelevant." If Hebert was that intoxicated, Carmack believed he likely wouldn't have been a threat to police. That, though, isn't what Deters believed especially in light of two unrelated shootings by police over the past weekend that left one dead and one wounded.
