HARTFORD School pictures will be taken Tuesday by Campus Studios of Pre-school children's pictures will be taken at 8 a. m. and High School students' will report at 8:30 a. m. All pictures must be paid for in advance.

and Mrs. Ronald Houston, 745 Sunnyslope who were among the guests at the wedding. He is a graduate of Emporia High School and the Flint Hills Vocational-Technical School and currently is serving in the Navy as a Lithographer, Second Class. Attendants at the wedding were Miss Deborah Todd, sister of the bride, and Mr. Ronald Chiarilli of Dale City, Va.

The ushers were Mr. Norman Wells of Fort Meyer, and Mr. Steven Campbell of Falls Church, Va. The flowergirl and ring- bearer were Tina and James CMarilli. However, Mr. Porter remain at the university to work on special projects for the Colorado centennial and United States bicentennial celebrations.

He was featured in articles in the Denver Post and the Mountain News soon after he announced his retirement as Theater Department chairman. 'Mr. Porter, who was born and reared in Sterling, attended the College of Emporia and later graduated from State College. He helped pay his way through coEege by working part time as a minister in the Emporia area. In 1929 Mr.

Porter became a faculty in the speech "department at Kansas State Teachers College and taught at the college for the next 17 years. In 1932 he married Miss Miriam Gilsoa, the daughter of Franklin Gilson who was then head of the Speech Department. Mr. Porter joined the faculty at the University of Denver in 1946. He helped establish and became the director of the school's radio department and later the radio-television department.

Among the people he interviewed while working in that department wefle Willy Brandt, who would become Chancellor of West Germany; Indira President of Lidia, and Dag Hammarskjold, Secretary General of the United Nations. In 1952 Porter began directing plays at the University of Denver. Soon after he was named co-chairman of the Theater Department, and in 1963 he was named chairman. He helped establish, with the aid of a 'Rockefeller Foundation grant, a professional theater program at the university, and also helped develop a University Theater Association. iSr Anniversaries Celebrated LEBO All family birthday anniversaries in August were celebrated at a get-together at the home of Nellie Bowlin on Sunday.

Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Calvert and Janine of Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Jackson George of Emporia; Dr.

and Mrs. Robert Lewis of Overland Park; Mr. and Mrs. Kenton Bailey, Philip, Jeff, and Robbie, of Lebo; Sherry Sherman and Heather of Emporia; and Debbie Bailey of Topeka. LEBO Mr.

and Mrs. Glenn Dale Miller returned Thursday from a 15-day tour of Europe. In Spain, they visited their nephew and his family, M-Sgt. and Mrs. Mar D.

Ellis Jr. and children. Other countries they toured were Italy, France, and England. LEBO Dr. and Mrs.

Galen Miller of Dallas, Texas, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Dale Miller on Friday and Saturday. LEBO Dale Standiferd and Craig Ellis are vacationing in Colorado this week.
