The sanctuary was decorated with candelabra twined with asters, gladioli and ferns.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Linkous, 923 Mechanic and Mr. Russell is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Willis Russell, 1114 Topeka St. The double-ring service was read by the Rev. Lery Wtndling, 0. F. of Calumet, Mich.

The organist was Mrs. Fred Markowitz. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress, of peau de soie and sheer and an illusion veil held with a bandeau of ruffled lace. Her dress was styled with long bishop sleeves of sheer, an overlay of Chantilly lace on the Empire bodice and appliques of lace on the floor-length skirt. Her veil was edged with a band of lace.

The bride carried a bouquet of yellow roses and blue carnations. Her attendants wore floor-length dresses of blue brocaded taffeta, fashioned with Empire waistlines and short puffed sleeves, and they carried yellow roses and blue carnations. The bride's attendants were Miss Patricia Linkous, a sister, maid of honor, and Mrs. James Russell of Salina, bridesmatron. The best man was Mr.

Kenneth Trear and the groomsman was Mr. James Russell. The other attendants were Mr. Michael Langley, Olpe; Mr. Michael Linkous, Wichita, and Messrs.

Ronald Trear and Richard Linkous, ushers: Jean Russell, flowergirl, Tony Russell, ringbearer, and Dianna Brewer, candlelighter. The reception after the ceremony was held in the Sacred Heart School Hall. Mrs. Michael Langley and 'Misses Kathy Brewer and Kathy Trear assisted with the serving. Mrs.

Michael Linkous presided at the guest book and Misses Trish and Ginny Schultz and Rita Krueger were in charge of the gift table. The bride and bridegroom were graduated from Emporia High School. and' the Flint Hills Vocational-Technical School" and the bridegroom also was graduated from the Salina Vocational-Technical School. They have returned from a wedding trip to Colorado and are living at South Ninth Salina. Out-of-town persons at the wedding, in addition to those mentioned, were Mir.

Kenneth Tobin, a former Emporian. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Defenbaugh of Chanute, is a student at the Wesley Medical Center School of Radiology in Wichita. The bridegroom, son of Mrs.

Charles Brust, Chanute, and Mr. James Tobin, Emporia, is an employe of the Santa Fe Railroad. They -are living at 617 Jiorih Erie Wichita. The service was read in the United Brethren in Christ Church in Chanute and the attendants were Mrs. Patrick McGuirk and Mr.

Michael Carlson. The ushers were Mr. Laurin Tobin, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr. Fred Defenbaugh. The mu- sicians were Miss Brenda Steele and Mr.

Larry Lindsberg. Amoag those assisted at the reception after the ceremony was Miss Deanna Tobin of Emporia. sister of the bridegroom. Others from Emporia who attended the wedding were Mesdames F. J.

and Mrs. John W. Wiseman of Toman, have announced the engagement of their daughter. Mary Catherine, to Mr. Barry Richard Wessel of Emporia, the son of Mr.

and Mrs. Henry R. Wessel of Medicine Lodge, formerly of Emporia. Miss Wiseman attended the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse and Mr. Wessel is a student at Kansas State Teachers College, majoring in accounting, and a representative of the Emporia State Bank and Trust Company.

Canaan-Buckeye Reunion SAFFORDVILLE The 15th annual reunion of pupils and teachers in the former Canaan and East Buckeye Schools was held Sunday in the grade school building. Forty attended and letters were read from three former pupils who were unable to attend Homer Macy of Sun City, Kuth Hampton of Sulphur Springs. and Hallie Umbarger of Siloam Springs. Ark.
