Wheat Is showing gresn and the crop has an excellent start in Chase county. Wheat farmers say the seed went into the ground here under the most favorable conditions possible.

CHASE COUNTY LAKE DELAYED Gr.ventment Will Furnish No CCC Camp FCT present. Special to The Gazette: Cottonwood Palls, Oct. in starting Chase county's big lake southwest of hers which was expected to get underway within the next few weeks, will now be inevitable, according to official information Just received from Washington, D. C. Information of the delay was mada through C.

C. Martin, acting supervisor of ECW administration, cf Mr.nkato. who reported orders from Washington were to the effect that no new construction will be effected during the sixth period. Ho also said that no further steps to locat? a CCC camp here for the starting of the lake would be taken at the present. It was possible, he stated, that construction of the camp might be undertaken during the seventh period.

Local officials had previously received informaticn that the colored camp which has been working Lvon county where they have just completed a lake would be moved Tuesday evening, here this month. The Chase county lake project a big one. A site comprising about 500 acres was purchased this year and the lake as planned will cover about 140 acres. The county voted $15,000 bonds for the purpose of building the site last November Mrs. A.
